Weyburn Bailey Obituary
May 23, 1933 - August 8, 2022
Weyburn Lewis Reid Bailey of Granite Falls, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at Hickory Falls Rehab Center in Granite Falls.
Born May 23, 1933, in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of Harold Robert Reid and Lyndon Clyde Mitchell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Vernie Bailey; and sister, Evelyn Barker Williams; and a special friend of many years, Jesse Bowman.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the First Baptist Church, Granite Falls. She was a nurse for 35 years and Lamaze Instructor for Caldwell Community College for 21 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Bailey-Day of Hickory; son, Barry Bailey and wife, Elisa, of Granite Falls; granddaughters, Lydia Hensley and husband, Ted Hensley, Jennifer Watts and husband, Patrick Watts, and Mackenzie Bailey Barrett and husband, Chris Barrett; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Macijewski.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Granite Falls, with Pastor Jay Worsley officiating. Barry Hayes will be giving the eulogy; Barry Bailey will be sharing special memories about Weyburn. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Family Life Center, First Baptist Church in Granite Falls, prior to the service.
