Allan Andrus Obituary

Allan Dean Andrus "Gramps" left this world for a better place Jan. 28, 2013, after 23 years of struggling with kidney failure. He was born April 3, 1948, to Dean and Millie Andrus and spent his entire life living in Richmond.
He was an avid fisherman and loved to fish with family and friends. He never missed a sporting event of his son's or grandkids. We will miss his words of encouragement.
He is survived by his sons Allan Craig (Brenda) Andrus and Casey Todd Andrus; grandchildren Brandon Alan Wright, Cade Allan, Cortney Brooke, Zakary Lewis and Denver Craig Andrus; former spouse Evelyn Taylor Andrus, honorary daughter-in-law Stacee Smith Roe; and honorary grandchildren Mikayla and Chayden Dockery. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Taylor Jo Andrus, parents and sister Diane A. Frodsham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the Richmond Stake Center, 135 W. Main St., with a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the same location.
Condolences may be expressed online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com.
When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in his mercy I be judged big enough to keep. We will miss you Gramps.

Good memories of Allan. He gave me a home made skate board one day after he had taken a spill on the hill at third east and main. The hill by his parents house(3rd East and 1st South) was not steep enough for Allan. It was made from a roller skate and piece of 2X4. A few years later, he was happy to take you for a spin if you wanted to go water skiing. Just show up at the lake. Journey on Allan. Prayers go out to the loved ones left behind.

I am sorry that I didn't learn of Allan's passing until it was too late to extend our condolences at his services. Our families have been connected for many years through the Five Bucks Mine. Allan has a prominent place in many of my best deer hunting stories. May you find comfort in your memories of him and assurance in your testimony of the plan of salvation.

As our age group grew up from elementary through high school, we all seemed to love and care about each other. Allan was special...fun,but so kind to everyone. I will always remember and love him. May his family have peace at his passing, but joy through memories of a wonderful friend, father, and grandfather.

I will miss Allan! One of my favorite things was when I got to drive him into town and it gave us time to talk. For being neighbors for so many years, I sure didn't get enough time with him. What a tremendous man!
May his family be blessed with peace and feel his love as they deal with his passing.
