Donald Jardine Obituary
Donald Edwin Jardine (Don) passed away at his home in Boise, Idaho on September 11, 2025 from metastatic prostate cancer. Don fought a valiant battle against this disease for 9 years. He had just celebrated his 72nd birthday. Don was born in Ogden, Utah August 25, 1953 to Claude Barton Jardine and Lucile Broadhead Jardine. He was raised on the family farm in Taylor, Utah. Don lost his dad when he was 14 years old and got his first job to help out his mom. He was raised with older siblings, his sister Claudia Jardine McNair and brother Wayne Jardine. He attended West Weber Elementary, Walquist Junior High and graduated from Weber High School, Class of 1971. Don received a Bachelor of Science in Business and Education from Utah State University (USU), Class of 1976. At USU, Don was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
While attending USU, Don loved to ski at Beaver Mountain. During one of his ski days, he was skiing single and Sandi Perry was also skiing single that day. They both called out "single" to ride the lift and the rest is history. Don and Sandi were married on June 17, 1977. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this year (2025). Don and Sandi spent most of their married life in Providence, Utah except for 4 years in Carmel, Indiana and the last almost 5 years in Boise, Idaho. Don and Sandi started their family in Providence with Cache Valley's New Year's baby of 1981, Donald Ryan Jardine (Ryan). Cassandra Emily Jardine (Cassie) followed in October of 1985. Perry Claude Jardine was born in July 1989, but was taken from us too soon, 8 days later.
Don's long business career was in sales. He had his real estate license and sold property in Bear Lake, Utah which started his lifetime love of the Bear Lake area. Don and Sandi built a cabin on the Sweetwater hillside in 2006 and had owned the cabin until 2021. Bear Lake was one of Don's most happy places. Don continued in sales working for Herff Jones from 1983 to 1996 as a Yearbook Sales Representative and promoted to the Regional Sales Manager. Don's career continued with Jostens as National Sales Manager from 1996 to 2010. Don received during his time with Jostens two Legend awards, one of their highest honors. Don retired and then began his favorite job, working at Logan River Golf Course.
Ryan was the first to relocate to Boise, where he later met his wife, Jamie, who became Don and Sandi's cherished daughter-in-law. Shortly thereafter, Cassie also moved to the Boise area. Don's family was blessed with two of his greatest joys, his grandchildren Brynn and Dax Jardine. In 2021, with Sandi, the love of his life, by his side, they made the move to Boise, fulfilling their wish to be close to their children and grandchildren. Above all else, Don found true happiness in celebrating special moments and making cherished memories with family and friends he loved most.
Don Jardine is lovingly survived by his wife, Sandi; his son, D. Ryan Jardine, and daughter-in-law, Jamie; and his daughter, Cassie Emily Jardine. He was a devoted "Papa" to Brynn Amelia and Dax Perry Jardine, and grand-dog Otto Bear. Don is further survived by his sister, Claudia McNair, and her family, his brother, Wayne Jardine, as well as his sister-in-law, Jackie Christensen, and her children and their families.
He was preceded in death by his son, Perry Claude Jardine; his parents, Claude and Lucile Jardine; and his in-laws, Jack and Ruth Perry.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the New Life Fellowship Church in North Logan.
