Donna Croshaw Obituary

PROVIDENCE - Donna Mae Campbell Croshaw, 86, of Providence, Utah, passed away July 28, 2011, of natural causes.
Mom was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Providence, Utah, to Hyrum Alma Jr. and Ivy Pickett Campbell. She married Roy Fisher Croshaw on March 21, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the proud parents of nine children: Bette Jo Croshaw, Roylan (Dorothy), Boyd (Wendy), Kevin (Cynthia), Kathleen (Verlo) Howell, Denise (Karl) Hillyard, Lisa (Gary) Leavitt, Elaine (Scott) Olson and Janalee (Alan) Jones. She has 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Mom's early years were spent learning the skills and talents that would make her a great wife and mother. Prior to getting married she worked for Mode O'Day as a pattern marker and then at Carlisle Shirt Factory as a Fore Lady. She made clothes for her nine children, doll clothes and many costumes. Her homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, spudnuts, pies and home canned goods were enjoyed by family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting, sewing, cooking and reading.
Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous church callings. She especially loved serving the children and being a visiting teacher, a calling in which she served faithfully until the time of her death.
Mom made many friendships through her association in the Ladessa Club and as a charter member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Elizabeth Matthews Camp. Her pioneer heritage was very important to her. Mom's primary focus in life was her husband, children and extended family.
She is survived by eight of her children and her three sisters, Afton Welling, Joyce Redd and Carol Noble. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Kevin; grandson, Roylan Jr.; her parents; and her brothers, Max, Dean and Lyle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at noon at the River Heights Stake Center located at 800 S. 600 East in River Heights. There will be a viewing for family and friends Sunday, July 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan, and Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Hirst, the staff of Access Home Health Care and Hospice and the staff of Sunshine Terrace for their kind and loving care.

Dear Crowshaw family,

I just returned from three weeks in Europe with Lance and Becky and was so saddened to read of my friend Donna Mae's death. She was mom's (Thelma) friend also and she and Opal were so good to her when she moved back to Prov and lived with me the last five years of her life. Lance also remembers that Donna was his Den Mother when I passed the news on to him. I'll miss her happy countenance but know that we'll all see her again someday. Love and Best wishes to you all and you adjust to her absence. Sincerely, Gloria Hansen Howells

Dear Family of Donna, She is such a sweet lady. I met her while I styled her hair at JcPennys for a few years. She always brought joy & happiness into the salon. She always gave great advice, and just made you smile when you seen her. I'm thankful I got to know her! God Bless you all! Always remember the fun times you all had with her!

Dear Croshaw Family- We are so sorry we didn't know in time to be in Logan. We will miss Aunt Donna. As a young boy I always had a good time staying at your home. I will never forget those times. I wish we would have found out before 10:30AM today. We would have enjoyed being there, and express our sorrow.

We didn't know Donna Mae well, but she made her mark in raising wonderful children. We send our condolences to the Howell's, Olson's, and Noble's whom we know best, and also to the rest of the family. We are on a mission and not in Cache Valley at this time, but because of technology we are able to send our sympathy to you.
