I no longer live in Bakersfield, so I didn't realize that Eldon had passed away. I want to leave this message to his family how he was such a NICE guy! I was his client many years ago. Even though Eldon got to live a long life and those who loved him got to share in those memories, I know that doesn't lift the sorrow of no longer being able to see him! I will always remember his kind manner and big smile. He also worked with my family. Every once in awhile I'd ask my attorney Diane Dodds and my CPA Lou Barbich, have you heard from Eldon? Is he still working? I was surprised and impressed how long he did work. He was an example of the work habits that were typical several years ago but not so lately.

What can I say about my old friend and partner, this has been very challenging for me. Eldon was by far the most intelligent yet humble man I´ve ever known. We last spoke in April of 2022, having a very long and nice conversation. We talked about our many very long nights working together, the various land deals we worked on together and I told him how much I appreciated his guidance and education on preparing contracts. Eldon ended that conversation by saying he would contact me the next time he went to Bakersfield so I could drive over and meet with him, the call never came. I tried numerous times throughout 2023 to reach him, the last time being Christmas day 2023.
Michael and David, as well as the rest of Eldon´s family, I´m truly sorry for your loss. We here on earth have lost a great man. May God Bless and watch over each of you as we say goodbye to my friend, Eldon.

Eldon Hugie was one of the kindest and most genuine men I have ever
known. He represented the Hugie name with
strength, loyalty, and goodness.
I loved Cleo also, as well as the Hugie family.
Even though,Shirley, we have never met, thank you for being there.
What a gift to be able to be together when Eldon passed.
When I think of Eldon, I will always remember him with love and kindness in my heart.
God bless you, Eldon, and the Hugie family.
