Shi Dean Obituary

Shi Anne Dean passed away on December 24th, 2009, at her home in Logan, Utah, after a short but valiant struggle with lung cancer.
She was born the second oldest of four children on September 16, 1947, in Long Beach, California to John Milton Dade and Doris May Hemby Dade. She attended the University of California Irvine and Brigham Young University.
A convert to the LDS church at the age of 20, Shi met Robert Charles Dean while attending BYU. They were married 6 months later in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Shi was a wonderful wife, mother, friend & businesswomen. She enjoyed her church callings, playing the piano, her real estate career, traveling, golfing, four-wheeling & shopping. One of her biggest enjoyments came from playing with her grandchildren, where she would become a kid again herself.
She served faithfully in Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society as a teacher and pianist. She also enjoyed her calling as a Logan Temple Officiator.
She is survived by her husband Robert; mother Doris; brother John Alan Dade, sister Launa Lee Nessl, her four children: Shauna Dean, Aaron Dean, Austin Dean and Amber Tueller; and her nine grandchildren.
A special thanks to her health care providers, including Dr. Desarae Goble, Dr. Ali Ben-Jacob and Jan Clements.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 1pm at the Hillcrest First Ward Chapel at 1500 E 900 N, Logan, Utah. Friends & Family may attend a viewing prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., or on Monday evening, December 30th, from 6-8pm at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Interment will take place in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com

There is not a day that goes by I don’t think about Shi. She was a strong mentor.
A great friend , always there for me. I credit my ethics in Real Estate due to Shi’s
Guidance. Her star in the sky shines bright over me.

I can't believe that even after her illness was diagnosed she was still concerned about our family's recent loss. I will miss her smile. Shi was one of the most positive people I have ever met and she will be greatly missed.

Shi was my Real Estate broker, when I first started as a realtor in 1994. She was always fair, honest, straight forward, a friend and mentor to me. Tnere was never a time that I would call her and ask her opinion on a situation that she was not there for me. I owe my sucess in business to her guidance, she was a dear friend to me, who I will miss greatly.
