JAMES B. FINK
July 14, 1939 - March 31, 2024

James B. Fink passed away on Easter March 31st, 2024.

Survived by loving wife Louise of 34 years, son Timothy Fink of Ormond Beach, stepson Kevin Ford and daughter-in-law Carmen Ford of Oklahoma City, daughter Debbie Komins estranged, Cousin Sherry and husband Wayne Burns of Seaman, Ohio.

Jim was preceded by brother Joseph Fink, half-brother Kingsley Fink, half-brother Jody Fink, son Michael Fink, half-sister Charlotte Fink, half-sister Jamie Perry estranged, half-sister Jill Fink estranged, Mother Roxie Bradshaw, Father Joseph Kingsley Fink Jr, stepmother Nellie Fink.

Jim's Great grandfather, Romie Fink, was city councilman of Miami and Postmaster of Coral Gables, Florida.

Jim's Grandfather, Joseph Fink Sr. was Police Commissioner of Miami.

Jim's uncle, George Merrich, was the founder of Coral Gables Florida.

Jim Fink was born in Miami, on July 14th, 1939 at St. Francis Hospital and moved from the area with his family to the Daytona area in 1951. He worked with his father in construction while attending Mainland High School where he graduated in 1957. Soon after, he joined and served in the Army. After the Army, he acquired his commercial general contractor's license.

Jim worked with Lester Oldaker and managed the company for 12 years. Jim founded his own company and became owner and president of Fink Construction in 1983.

Jim was very well known as a commercial builder in the Volusia, Flagler and St John's County areas. Just to name a few of the important structures he built: Ormond Beach YMCA, a large addition to the Ormond Beach City Hall, Firehouse #73 in Port Orange, The Lady of Hope Church in Port Orange, First Christian Church in Daytona as well as many Churches, Schools and Shopping centers. He built or added additions to 5 Florida Healthcare Facilities. He built the Regency Plaza and Nautilus Condominiums on A1A. As well as many other condominiums along the beachside stretching from Port Orange to St. Augustine and inland.

Jim and wife Louise loved camping and drove to Alaska in their motor home in 2010 and again in 2014 visiting for 6 months on both trips.

Jim was known as our Ormond Beach and Daytona Historian. He told many historic stories with his friends around the campfires. Jim was founding member of the Ormond Beach Junior Chamber of Commerce, member of the Ormond Beach American Legion Post 0267, treasurer of the Ormond Beach Tomoka Travelers Camping Club and member of the Nation Rifle Association.

Though we mourn the loss of this great man, we also celebrate a life well lived and the profound impact Jim had on each of us. His spirit will forever be etched in our hearts.

He will be truly and deeply missed by his family and all of his friends.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Jim Fink's name to the First Christian Church. Services will be held at the same location 326 South Palmetto Ave. Daytona Beach, Florida 32114 on April 27th, 2024 at 10:00a.m.

Louise, so sorry for your loss. Growing up and sharing backyards when I was way younger lol. I babysat for Timmy and Debbie. We had a lot of heartfelt conversations as a teenager. He definitely had a full life. Diane Albert Johnston
