David Denis Roundtree

David "Tree" Denis Roundtree, 65, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Chacahoula, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 12, 2017.

Graveside services will be held at St Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux on June 22, at 2 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at the Jolly Inn, 1507 Barrow Street in Houma the same night at 7 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cheramie Roundtree; sons, Brent Roundtree and companion, Jen, Brandon Roundtree and wife, Rachael; step-children, Nikki Thibodeaux and husband, Mark, Michelle Waldron and husband, Marc, Dean Lirette and wife, Brandy, and Robbi Gouaux; grandchildren, Bryden Roundtree, Eliza and Dru Thibodeaux, Christian and Heidi Lirette, Hayley, Brennan and Madison Gouaux; great-grandchild, Adalie Soderstrum; his siblings, Ellis J. Roundtree Jr. and wife, Sue, Linda R. Knight, Clair R. Poirrier and husband, Stephen, and Susan R. Bourgeois and husband, Dean, and numerous nieces, nephews, and his beloved fur-baby, Bella Louise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis J. Roundtree, Sr. and Hazel G. Roundtree; brother, Jerry P. Roundtree; brother-in-law, Freddie Knight; and sister-in-law, Joann Roundtree.

He was an avid hunter, enjoyed camping and spending time with his friends and family. "Tree" as he was known, was a well-known inspector and worked in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus and Ochsner Home Healthcare for the outstanding care he received for the last seven years. And a special thank you to Ms. Sonia McNamara at the Jolly Inn.
