She was an amazing woman, very strong in her Christian beliefs. She was one of my mom's best friends. She was one of the least judgemental people in our area. Oak Cliff was "for low class minority gangsters on welfare" and she lived in my neighborhood, gave me the first algebra lesson I ever had--in Church! And, even though I had epilepsy, bipolar (like my mom and her friend), and schizo-affective disorder, I went and became the best student at my high school and at the same time, community college, and then went to the best University in Texas and became just like this great woman: a mathematician who tutored in churches a lot. I loved her. My mom's crying right now. She's like an aunt.
