Robert Barrios Obituary
A visitation in his honor will be observed from 9 a.m. until a celebration of his life at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29 in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home, 5899 La. 311 in Houma. Interment to follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Bobby is survived by his loving parents Robert Sr. and Rachael Sothern Barrios; brother, David Matthew Barrios; and sister, Nicole Marie Maronge; nephew, Jacob Maronge; nieces, Meghan and Morgan Maronge; maternal grandfather, James Sothern; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
Bobby was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Chad Maronge; paternal grandmother, Marguerite C. Barrios; paternal grandfather, Louis H. Barrios; and maternal grandmother, Geraldine G. Sothern
He was a Green Beret in the U.S. Army for 12 years and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby, I had the privilege of being one of probably several Team Leaders you had. Hopefully it wasn't too bad of an experience eh? I miss arguing about SEC football with you. Your Tigers have definitely had the winning edge over my Vols the last decade. What can I say? I feel like we failed you in some way by not being there for you when you needed us most. I will always remember your laughter, great sense of humor, and your loyalty always first and foremost to the team. You were a great soldier, human being, and friend. I will cherish your memory and remember your service to our great nation. Until we meet again brother, rest easy.

Bobby, we didnt get to know each other for long (a year and change) but I considered you a friend. We would laugh a lot at work. You made fun conversation and it was always a pleasure to be in your presence. I wish we could have spent more time outside work. Ill miss you. Rest easy, brother.

My husband was friends with Bobby when we were all stationed in Okinawa. He always spoke highly of him and we are both deeply saddened to hear that he has passed. I will keep his family in my prayers.

I pray peace over your house during this time of sorrow and loss. Bobby was a great guy to be around. As another Houma resident who went off into active duty it was always great when our visits home were overlapped.

I saw this young man grow up as he lived down the street from me. I remember him as he rode his bike and as he would practice basketball at his house. I now pray for the repose of his soul and will remember him in my prayers.
