Scott Michael Verret Obituary

Scott Michael Verret
In loving memory of our beloved baby boy, Scott Michael Verret, age 25, peacefully passed away at Ochsner Main Campus in New Orleans on Friday, April 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral home on Monday, April 23, 2018, from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Living Word Church on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m. until the Reflection of Life Service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery.

Scott is survived by his parents, Ronald Paul Verret and Vickie Jill Verret; brothers, Jacob John Verret and wife, Kayla Verret, Ronald Paul Verret Jr. and wife, Amy Palmer and Tyler James Verret; grandparents, Joseph Billiot and Mary Billiot, Joseph Nolan Verret and Mary Lillian Verret; godparents, Mary Ann Billiot and Ray Billiot; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and nieces, Mariah Jayde Verret and Emery Jayde Verret.

Scott is also survived by his three loving godchildren, Anaya Ranae Baptise, Alivia Kelly Billiot and nephew/godchild, Owen John Verret. Our son was also survived by two special girls that were his cousins, but he called them his sisters, Sierra Kelly Billiot and Alyssa Lakota Billiot. Also by a brother from another mother, Ryan Christopher Holt.

Scott was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, his little brother, Joshua Verret and uncle, Robert Friedman.

Scott was a very outgoing and easy person to get along with. He was a great impression to anyone he came in great contact with. His favorite holiday season was Mardi Gras and his favorite parade was The Krewe of Hercules. He enjoyed being around all his Hercules friends. Scott couldn't wait for the Hercules parades every year. He also loved sports, the NBA and NFL. He had many favorite players between the two. Scott's favorite NFL team was the Pittsburgh Steelers and he was a big Antonio Brown fan.

When it came to the NBA it was different; he was a big Jrue Holiday, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James fan. His favorite two teams in the NBA were the New Orleans Pelicans and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Obituary was written by Scott Verret.
