I have so many wonderful memories of you but some of the most precious are of those middle of the night phone calls when you couldn’t sleep. We would talk, laugh, cry and tell our secrets until you started to nod off. And now, for the last time, I repeat the words that always ended those conversations, “pleasant dreams, sleep tight”.

Where should I begin to describe the impact Andy had on the Farney family? Many people know of his talent and dedication as a coach which our oldest son Ryan benefited from greatly. But perhaps the most special interaction that I can think of is with our daughters Kristin and Kaylin. One time at a ballgame the girls were restless and probably misbehaving. Andy saw thing and came over to talk to them. He saw that they were eating chicken nuggets and he focused on that vs. what we all were telling them like "shhhhh". The girls were probably 3 and 5 at the time. Within minutes Andy had them calmed down and everything was fine. Every day after that when the girls saw Andy they shouted with joy "Hi Chicken Man!". That was the true spirit of Andy that I will remember. He was just flat out a good person who cared about others. I am proud to remember him as a genuine friend to our entire family.

I remember that Andy preparing the fields was always the first sign to me that baseball and softball season was at hand. Tournament softball was also a special sharing of "hot" and fun times. Our thoughts and prayers are with you..

Dearest Joyce, Brigid, Abby, Molly and Blake
We are all so sad today because the world has lost such a great man. Andy never knew a stranger and had a contagious smile that brightened the room when he entered. It was obvious that he genuinely cared about the people he loved, especially his three wonderful children. He was especially blessed to have you all there loving and caring for him during these past months.
As you know Andy was Kelly and Emily’s coach for many, many years. He mentored many other young softball/baseball players. We are all so blessed to have had the privilege to have know and loved Andy. He will be missed but, I know he is in heaven cheering us all on even though we are grieving.
May you all have the strength to carry on. You are in our prayers. God Bless You All.

Brigid, Abby, Molly, and Blake - we were so sorry to hear of your loss. We have many fond memories of Andy. Kevin put it best when he said that he loved Mr. Goldberg because "he was always so happy to see me".

Andy was an incredible force in our community. He was known by so many, especially our children. Active in West University Sports and other organizations, he was a well respected coach and friend.

The reality of Andy's death brings to the fore how precious life is and makes it difficult to find words that can convey my sadness. Please know that you are all in my prayers.

I worked with Andrew @ Capital One Bank and he was one of the nicest people that I had the chance of knowing and calling my friend. The love for his children was the most important thing to him and he truly will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
