Burniece McDonald Obituary

BURNIECE MARIE MCDONALD, 40-year resident of Taylor Lake Village, passed away on Wednesday, September 17 at age 86 while in the loving care of Baywind Village and her daughter, Janet Rose. Born Burniece Marie Fritz in Cutknife, Saskatchewan, Canada, September 4, 1922. She married James N. McDonald, her WWII sweetheart in 1945. They lived in Prince Albert, Sask., Denver, CO, and in 1968 moved to Clear Lake, Texas. Burniece and Jim were members of Clear Lake Presbyterian Church where she was an elder and served on the Worship Committee. Her community volunteer work included Clear Lake Forest Garden Club, Republican Women, and Rotary Wives. She and her husband, Jim enjoyed traveling together to visit their four children and families: Roland McDonald of Red Hook, NY; Marilyn McDonald-McWilliams of Carbondale, CO; Karen Johnson of Mendham, NJ and Janet Rose of Taylor Lake Village. Burniece was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of four. She is survived by all four children, but predeceased by her husband, Jim and two sisters, Bersha Dunn/Martin and Marion Clarke. Visitation will be at Forest Park East Funeral Home, Friday October 10, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. There will be a Memorial service for Burniece Saturday October 11, at 2 P.M. at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church, 1511 El Dorado Blvd., Houston, TX 77062. Interment will be in the Forest Park East Cemetery.
