I had the honor of serving in the same platoon as "Haus", and I often find myself thinking of him and wishing I could talk to him again. He was always happy and cheerful, even in some of the most unhappy situations that anyone should have to go through.
They are rebuilding Tun Tavern in Philadelphia for the 250th anniversary of the Marine Corps, and I will be contributing a commemorative alley paver to honor him and his service that he gave to our country.
Until we meet again, brother.

It is late here at night.
Was going through some old e-mails and came across some messages from your father.
Whom I hope you have been reunited in heaven with.
It has been 16 years since you have been gone.
I miss that fish smell of yours.
I miss seeing you wear that red baseball cap.
I miss your laughter.
I miss our conversations.
So much of life I wish you were still here with us all.
I hope that you are looking over everyone that loves and misses you.

Chance was a very special guy who touched the souls and lives of everyone who met him, for those who knew him he reached even deeper than that. He will always remain in our Hearts and Minds, will forever be loved and remembered, because in his life he was and will forever be an unforgetable man.

Chance, I cant believe your gone. I still remember each and every kiss we had. I remember that smile and the tingles you used to give me when we would be together just having fun like we did. Chance will always be in our thoughts. Kind, friendly and polite, what a delight he was. Although a long friendship we did not have, his presence will be missed, a Marine he was, and how grateful we are for the service he gave our Country and the love he showed his fellow men. As parents of 3 young men, our hearts go to your family, God only knows what their heart feels with your absence, pray for their peace and acceptance now that you are closer to our Lord. May you find the peace in Heaven this earth did not give you, and may the Angels let you join their choir! Rest in peace Marine!

What an amazing friend to be taken from us so soon.. This is defenitly a hard time for everyone who knew Chance and how great of a man he was while in high school and also as a man outside of school. I feel honored to have known him and to call him a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Chance's family and friends.

I did not know Chance personally but have been a friend of his grandparents and family for over 50 years. Their grief for this loss is beyond my ability to comfort them with just words. Our prayers for Chance and his dear family will have to suffice

I remember Chance from High School... How could anyone forget him? That smile, and that heart of absolute gold! He was the one who always wore his JROTC uniform like he knew it had meaning. It set him apart from the rest of the ROTC bunch. He had such a burning desire to be in the Military. Anyone who knew Chance, KNEW THAT! :) He was the guy who stood apart from the rest. He was respectful, kind and would help anyone and he was a great listener. :) Even after losing contact in High School, he always stayed in my thoughts. I'm in mourning. My heart hurts for you, Hausinger family... You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Chance was a great friend and I will miss that goofey smile of his. I'm glad that in the short time that I knew him, we were able to spend most of that time either fishing or hanging out.

I am sorry I did not personally know your son, Cody. I praise God for his desire to serve his country and pay the ultimate sacrafice. No greater love has man than he lay down his life for a friend. I have a fond memory of Chance, he was about a year old or so and we went to the Pasadena Mall and somehow I got the task of pushing Chance's stroller, "what a good kid"
He was very content for me to roll him around and look in all the store windows. One partricular trip to Texas, I stayed with Chris and slept in Chances bedroom. Once the lighjt was out, I seen these two huge green eyes hovering above the door frame. I let out a scream, jumped up, turned the light back on, only to find out it was ET.
