David Stevens Obituary

David Barrett Stevens
July 19, 1953 - June 1, 2022
David Barrett Stevens died at age 68 on June 1, 2022, in Tucson, AZ. He valiantly fought stage 4 colon cancer for more than four years after being given only six months to live. David was beloved by parents John and Betty Stevens; siblings and their spouses Mary and Jeff Bobbitt, Mark and Elaine Stevens, Tom Stevens, Jane and Jerome Glass, Cathy Stevens and Juliette Meeus, and Philip Stevens; and his nephews and nieces Andy, Beth, Amy, Matthew, Kate, Margaret, Katie, and Steven.

David enjoyed his business career, but his passion was acting. From his stints helping to train district attorneys to local theater productions in Houston and Galveston, he portrayed an assortment of characters. He was admired and well respected by his fellow thespians. His family knew him as the "Best Ben Franklin West of the Mississippi." He was very proud of his portrayal of the rueful father in "God's Country" in 1992.

When David moved to Tucson, he became an avid nature photographer. He was proud of using his unsophisticated "ACME" camera to take beautiful, captivating photos, that he would share on Facebook. In his last days, David missed his hometown of Houston and all his Houston friends, including his friends of Bill. David's many relatives and friends will miss him greatly. RIP, dear David.
