I have known Derrick for over 16 years. He use to come over to our house when we lived in Greenhouse Patio apartments. My prayers goes out to the Williams family, he was definitly a gift from heaven. Derek was able to share his last days with some of his classmates and friends for that we are so thankful. He was a brother inside a friend, he always gave words of encouragement, always had something crazy to say to make you laugh. When D*Will was around, there was never a dule moment. We went to smmitty's for D'Will's b*day and he stated, that was the best b*day he had ever had, he was so excited. I am sadden that he his gone, but i am excited that he his resting!!

To Cogan & The Entire Family,
Derek will always be just like a nephew to me. I've had the great opportunity to have him & his wife as neighbors of my nephew. They were at all of our family gatherings, they fit right in with us from the beginning. Five years ago. We celebrated holidays, birthdays & always bringing the new year in. Derek will always hold a special place in my "Familys' Hearts". We loved him dearly, but God loved him best. The journey that he had on this earth where he touched a lot of people with his humor & his kindness, such a giving spirit. It will never be forgotten. He ran his race & has finished his course. I just hope & pray that someones soul will be saved as a result of this tragedy. People please open your eyes & just realize that we are only here temporarily! We are just passing through. This earth is not our home! We can be gone as quickly as in a twinkling of an eye. "Seek ye' first the kingdom of God". If you don't know God or don't have a personal relationship with Him.
