Elise Detweiler Thomas passed away on December 17, 2022 in Cypress, TX surrounded by family. She is survived by her son Reid Thomas and wife Michelle; her daughter Kristen Morrisett and husband Paul, and their sons Weston, Grant and Thomas; daughter Stacey Fuselier and husband Arlen, and their son David; sister-in-law, Anita Detweiler; niece and family, Elizabeth, James, and Tyland Jackson; nephew and family David, Julie, Henry, and Audrey Detweiler. She is preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Dave Detweiler, and brother, C. David Detweiler. Our family is truly heartbroken. Elise miraculously beat metastatic breast cancer in 2001 and surpassed all expectations by living an additional twenty-one beautiful years filled with graduations, weddings, and the joys of becoming a grandmommy! She lived a life of service and love. She was a nurse for thirty-seven years at Park Plaza Hospital. She was a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a shoulder to lean on for those who called her a friend. We will miss calling her for advice, giving her reports of our daily activities, spending afternoons running errands with her, and enjoying the plentiful cookies, muffins and banana bread she packed for trips to the lake. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:30am on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church, 15235 Spring Cypress Rd. Cypress, TX 77429. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Ronald McDonald House.

Elise was my co-worker, my mentor, and my friend. Her intelligence, patience and love for her family were expressed in her work as a nurse caring for mothers and babies.
