F. LeBlanc Obituary

F. Charles LeBlanc
1941-2016

Charles LeBlanc passed away on Tuesday, April 19th, 2016. He was born March 10, 1941 in New Iberia, LA., and grew up in Port Arthur, TX. He was the son of Francis Charles LeBlanc and Mae LeBlanc. Charles is survived by his wife Sharon Baker LeBlanc of 51 years, his daughters Kimberly Marie Bancroft and husband Tim Bancroft, Kristin Lynne Ruffin and his son F. Charles LeBlanc II and his wife Kristi Rickli LeBlanc and seven grandchildren: Matthew Douglas Bancroft, Meredith Marie Bancroft, Andrew Charles Bancroft, Sarah Caroline Ruffin, Robert Jeffrey Ruffin, Jr., Avery Grace LeBlanc and F. Charles LeBlanc, III. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Lynne Pierce, niece Allison Lee Nixon and nephew Burt Lee II.
Growing up Charles was an alter boy at St. James Catholic Church and graduated from Bishop Bern High School. He spent summers working as a lifeguard and earning his Eagle Scout certification. While earning his degree at Lamar University in Beaumont, he worked as a camera man for Channel 4. He was also a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Charles began a life long career in real estate with London Properties and was an executive officer for Reliable Life Insurance Company for 19 years.
His proudest achievement was launching the Midtown Redevelopment Authority in 1992. He led a rebirth of Midtown that includes commercial and residential mixed use development, streetscape enhancements, utility infrastructure improvements and park development. Charles' tenacity and foresight contributed to Midtown Redevelopment Authority's unprecedented financial success and many national awards.
He was a faithful member of Christ the Good Shepherd and Prince of Peace Catholic Communities. He enjoyed serving on the Ponderosa Forest Water Board for 28 years.
Charles was a passionate planner and enjoyed cruising and traveling around the world. He loved Motown music and was always looking for a dance partner. He cherished his cajun heritage, and was also a proud lifetime Cadillac owner.
Known for his humorous phrases, we will always remember him saying "Laissez les bon temps roulez".

I light this candle to represent the brightness you brought to all who had the opportunity to know you. Your kindness and respect for all can never be forgotten. May you rest in peace and may your candle always glow.
