I am sorry to hear of Gilbert's passing. It has been a long time since I visited with him, but always had fond memories of our visits. My parents were Roy and Loudelle Haferkamp and we lived in Baytown. A friend in Houston brought the obituary to my attention. We'll keep you in our prayers.

I worked with Gil in the early 1980's at the Texaco research labs, and I fondly remember him sitting on the trash can during the lunch-time card-playing (Spades) and telling all kinds of stories. Sometimes he would nod off and nearly fall off the trash can. Drove a red El Camino, if I recall. Very nice country man with a big heart. My condolences to the family.
