Glenn Bahm Obituary

Glenn Alfred Bahm
1926-2022
Glenn A. Bahm, portrait artist and inventor, passed into God's loving arms on January 31, 2022. He was 95 years old. By almost any standard he lived a charmed life pursuing his passion for art and creativity.
After WWII, Glenn received an art degree from LSU, met and married Janice, his beloved wife of 52 years. His first portrait commission paid for the bricks that built their first home.
In the mid 1950's he began to paint portraits full time and in 1969, moved his family
from Louisiana to Houston, Texas.
Glenn painted over 200 portraits in his career of nearly 70 years, his art is in homes and businesses across the USA. Both Glenn and Janice were devoted to their Catholic faith, which Glenn supported by painting portraits of Priests, Bishops and Saints from Louisiana to Texas.
Along the way, he helped invent a dental bridge system, a specialized water color easel,
as well a folding wheelchair tray, patenting several of his inventions.
Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janice and is survived by his children Paul (Deborah), Barbara, Jerolyn (Roger) and John (Gloria). Grandchildren: Meghan, Ashley, Hans, Ulrikke, Julia,
Kara Jane, Sam and Robert and 13 Great-Grandchildren.
Glenn and Janice loved to go dancing and loved to travel, they were able to do plenty of both!
He is now back with his Janice, dancing in the moonlight!

To the Baum Family: I was sad to hear of Glenn's death. I had not seen Glenn in a while, but for years we shared the same hour at Perpetual Adoration in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. John Vianney. He was always quite pleasant, and I admired his artworks in the church.

May God have mercy on his soul. He was a good and kind man.

God bless,
Wyn Norris

I am so sad to learn of Glenn's passing. He lived at the Village of River Oaks and was a kind friend to my father, Dee Ragan. We even went up to his apartment to see his portraits and paintings. Dad always remarked how interesting and talented he was. We will miss him. I am so sorry I did not know before now. I send my condolences to all of you during this tough time. I will ALWAYS be grateful for Glenn.

How fortunate Chuck and I were to be friends with Glenn, Janice and family for many years and share so many happy times. Glenn, so extremely gifted with his artistic talent, was so humble and always so kind. So very thankful for the pleasure of making beautiful memories.
