Haskell Irvin Rosenthal, beloved husband, father, and grandfather died peacefully June 9, 2023.

Haskell was born in Houston, Texas on April 19, 1936 to David and Esther Rosenthal. He graduated from the University of Houston with an accounting degree and had a career filled with public service and a commitment to education. He helped the IRS start its Taxpayer Services Program, taught high school reading, served as a captain in the Army Reserves, worked at Weiners Stores, and published four children's books: The Little Dreidel that Ran Away, Flutter, Lilly's Trip to the Lands of Adventure, and Spots and Sparky.

Haskell married Judith-Ann Saks in 1974, and they were blessed with a child Brian in 1978. Haskell and Judy were both long-time members of Congregation Beth Israel. He was known for his deep compassion and empathy, his beautiful singing voice, and his love of Judaism.

Haskell is survived by his wife Judy, his son Brian, daughter-in-law Eugenie, and grandchildren Lillian, Charles, and Eve.
