To the Gant Family and to Tina Earls (Barney): Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to you all.

May the peace of God keep you during this time of separation from your Husband/Father...

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with our Lord (unknown)

This is only meant as a point of encouragement to you all. Our prayers and love of God are with you.

Paul, James, and the Gant Family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours during this time. I met your dad one day at the bank, and it was always a pleasure visiting with him. He was always so proud of his children, and anxious to go visit. You could count on him always having a smile on his face, that was most certainly contagious to all that came in contact with him.

Will never the forget the summer around 1984-85, while visiting a storm was soon approaching us. We were in the room have a good time, liten to music and just doing our thing, when in walks Uncle Gina and will that look say yall better be praying!!! You should have seen people falling to their Needless to say soon after a tree across the street was literally uprooted out of the ground. I can say that he was a godly man that love his wife and family. I never could get over how much his brother(Gant Tob) and his wife (Mamma Doris) looked so much like Uncle Gina and Aunt Ruby. I thought they were all twins growing up. LOL To this family, my the peace of God be with you.

Sister Ruby and family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of Deacon Gant. His gentleness and welcoming personality greeted myself and my family to St. James. I will always admire his passion and the love he had for God,the church, his beloved Ruby and his family. Truely, a great man of God.
His sense of humor and laughter always had us in stitches. He will be forever remembered and in our hearts.

Although I live in Victoria now, I spent my early years in Brownsville and recognized the name Henry Gant from my years of teaching at Cummings Jr. High when Henry Jr. was a student. I passed the St. James Baptist Church often on my way to my brother or sister's homes far out on Old Port Isabel Road. May God bless all your family at this time of loss. I give thanks for a long life well-lived.

In Christ,

Priscilla Abbott

Dear Ruby and Children,
We were so saddened to learn of Henry Sr.'s passing. He was one of the finest men we ever had the pleasure of knowing. He served as an example of how a man should lead his life, and we feel so blessed to have been a part of his life. He and Ruby raised some of the best students ever to have graduated from Harlingen High School. We were so honored to have coached/taught them.
