I only really knew Ira thru the DJ business. We have been running into each other for many years at hotels and other venues doing our work for parties. We also got to see and visit with each other at DJ seminars and other DJ gatherings around town through the years. I was so shocked to hear of this wonderful man's passing. He was a true professional and one heck of a nice guy. Please accept the heartfelt condolences to his family from The Greater Houston Mobile Music Assn as a group and from myself individually.

P, I cannot tell you how much you made me laugh. I too, was among those you introduced yourself to on my very first day at SHSU. I remember hiding you in my dorm room while you were pledging and hanging out at the student center (we really were studying). My heart goes out to your family. We will miss you here but your spirit will live on forever in the memories of your classmates, family and aquaintances. God bless your family. We will meet again, my friend.

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead. I was so sadden by the news of Uncle Pete passing. He has brought laughter to so many of us. I have not seem Pete in years, but the last time I saw him, he had me in tears laughing so. Thats the way I will always remember him. A pure joy to be around.

We went to lunch Monday through Friday, and I am sure if we worked on weekends we would have went together then too. You touched many lives and I am so glad my life had been touched by your grace. We laughed, we talked, and life around you was never boring. I wish your family well and hope they know they can call anytime and I will be there. Your in a better place now and but you will truely be missed.

Sam Houston would not have been as much fun without Uncle Pete. He was one of a kind, and will be miss by all that knew him. He was loved dearly by the many students he touched over the years. It is truly sad to think I will never again hear him call me "Harvey Wall Banger". Always look to the hills for help from the great God above.

To the Bostic family, my prayers are with you in this time of sorrow and pain. Hold on to those funny times when Ira made you smile. He was a great co-worker and wonderful person. To his wife, my Soror, if there is a need I can fulfill please let me know. To his daughter, you had a wonderful father who was very proud of you. Hold on to that. May God continue to Bless You.

To the entire Bostic Family..... you are in my prayers. I will forever cherish my memories of Uncle P. Throughout my years at Sam, Uncle P had a way with words. He was the first person that I met at Sam, and his first words to me were "Hey!Where are you from?" It was then that I learned that our parents were from the same "neck of the woods." Uncle P didn't have to do or say anything to make you smile. He just had to be Uncle P! May the memories live on. Uncle P has left us all with words that we can and should continue to keep near our hearts. For his website begins with "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct our paths". What a Word! What a Husband! What a Father! What a Son! What a Brother! Bostic Family -- Continue to be Blessed!!

The Bostic Family are in our prayers and thoughts.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, HE is my refuge and my fortress, MY GOD; in him will I TRUST. Psalms 91,1-2

We love you and will be praying for you.

Dear Serena and Raven,
Words cannot express my sincerest sympathy for your loss. I want you both to know that I have been praying for you and will continue to do so on a regular basis. I, too, met Ira (Uncle P) at SHSU. He brought laughter to those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. My husband and I watched our wedding video back in December and there was Uncle P right there deejaying at the reception. I thank God that he was able to touch so many lives and that he left a positive legacy. He knew the Lord and was always willing to share the Word with others. That is a blessing. Take care and comfort in knowing that "all is well."

Sisterly love,
LaDon Hunt Ward

I only met Ira once but just in that time I felt like I knew him for a while because he was so friendly and very outgoing. My husband Juan who worked with him always talked about him and what a great friend he was and how they always talked about their DJ things that they had in common. He will be truly missed and to his wife and daughter, I continue to pray that the Lord will give you strength, faith and hope during this time and always.

Dear Serena and daughter Raven,

May God bless you, strengthen and keep you as you go through this difficult time. Your husband and father is now making his transition from this earthly home to his heavenly home, and be assured that he is resting in the bosom of our Lord and Savior.

I will always remember that whenever I passed by your house on my way home, he always rendered a "neighborly" wave and smile. What a trait to have!!

I know you love him and will miss him, but as time goes on, I and others will have you in our prayers that God may comfort you and keep you now and well beyond this sad hour.

Praying for you,
Annie Garnett-Monteiro, Neighbor and McGee Chapel Member

I would like to express my condolences to the Bostic family. You should find comfort in knowing Ira "Uncle P" brought laughter and joy to the student body of Sam Houston State University while enrolled there. I recall saying to him one day that he so let his "light" shine that people had no choice but view it. No one attending SHSU would deny that fact. To his immediate family and friends I offer these words of comfort: He leadeth, O blessed thought, O words with heavenly comfort fraught. Whatever I do, wherever, still tis God's hand that leadeth. Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom, sometimes by waters calm, over troubled sea, still tis His hand that leadeth.

Just have peace in knowing that he is in a better place and we will meet again. God Bless!
