James Lemoine Obituary

James Alvin Lemoine, Beloved husband and father, James Alvin Lemoine, 66, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his home in Wimberley, Texas.
Jim was born February 6, 1947 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to William Warren Lemoine and Iris Lorraine Dever Lemoine. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Shelia Ellzey Lemoine; son, Eric Lemoine and girlfriend, Alexandra Thornton of Houston; son, Brad Lemoine and girlfriend, Jill Hughes of Wimberley; daughter, Abby Kawas and husband Raul of Wimberley; grandchildren, Iris, Edward, and Helen Kawas; sister, Patricia McQuinn of Dallas; and sister, Elizabeth Lea of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Jim and his wife Shelia moved to Santa Barbara, California in 1971, when he was 24 years old. There he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Illustration and Advertising from Brooks Institute. He was an artist of all elements whose passion and eye for beauty drove his life-long career in photography. Jim thrived for 15 years as a photographer in the advertising and freelance industry. He then moved on to Medical Photography for 25 years, retiring from M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2011. Since retirement his greatest joy was playing and spending as much time as possible with his three grandchildren.
Interment will be at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas.
A memorial service and reception will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Joseph J Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott St., in Houston, Texas.

I am so sorry to here about Jim's passing .I worked in photography for radiology ,but he new our group when he was here at MD Anderson. Sending my condolences and hopeing your family finds the peace with in your hearts as they heal.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I worked with him for many years in Medical Photography at MD Anderson. Jim was always talking of his wonderful family during his time here. My heart goes out to Sheila; their children and grandchildren. You are in my prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My heart goes out to the family, I am grateful to have known Jim and the Lemoine family, Abby is one of my best friends and I remember when they all lived here at the house near the Menil sitting on that porch and hearing Jim and Shelia tell stories of the past will always be great memories, Jim was a very funny person, I always felt very much part of the family and I will treasure those memories forever. My condolences to Shelia, Abby, Brad and Eric you are all in my prayers.
