James "Ibb" Rabb

James Ibb Rabb, 86, passed away May 7, 2023 in Katy, Texas. He was born on Rabb Road in Drew County, Arkansas to Tom Watson Rabb and Jewell Calhoun Rabb. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Shriner. He was the youngest son of 10 siblings.

James "Ibb" was a Master Brick Mason, leaving his mark on homes and creative projects all over Southeast Arkansas and South Texas. In his later years, in Angleton, Texas, he was a Foreman for Brazoria County Precinct 2 Road & Bridge Division where he forged lasting friendships and also enjoyed many travels all over the country with his wife, Bernice.

His most favorite job was being a dad to his two adoring daughters, Melissa and Jamie and a grandfather to his six grandsons whom he loved with all his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Owens Murray Rabb of Katy, Texas, his daughter Jamie Rabb Beshoory (Richard) of Pearland, Texas, Son-in-law John Seyer (Melissa) of Sugar Land, TX, 6 Grandsons, Sean C. Gentry (Lindsay) of Houston, TX, J. William Seyer (Samantha) of Houston,TX, J. Jordan Cunneff of Houston, TX, James E. Seyer of Sugar Land, TX, Jamison A. Cunneff of Charleston, SC and Pryce J. Beshoory of Pearland, TX and 4 great-grandchildren, Kennedy Melissa Gentry, Wyatt Cornell Gentry, Scarlett Rose Seyer and Penelope Ann Seyer, his brother, Tom Rabb, Jr. of Monticello, AR, and his sister Janie Rabb Fuller of Haymarket, VA and many special nieces and nephews. His life-long adoration for his beloved Rabb family was remarkable.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom Watson Rabb and Jewell Calhoun Rabb, his brothers and sisters, Katie Rabb Raines, Colby Rabb, Grover Rabb, Roth Rabb, Joe Rabb, Lester Rabb and Camille Rabb Berryman and his beautiful and beloved daughter, Melissa Ann Rabb Seyer, where he spent every waking hour by her side during those very dark days.

An inurnment service for James "Ibb" will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.

To our dad… who let me tag along on hunting trips, transported countless ballet tutus and cheerleading pom-poms, built many dance recital sets, nurtured my love for golf and Melissa's love for horses, and encouraged us every step of the way to be caring and productive members of our communities, and he did all of this with such grace and class. Losing him leaves such a big hole in my heart, but I find peace in knowing he is whole again. His final resting place will be next to his daughter…exactly where he wanted to be. Godspeed Dad… you will be forever loved.
