James Turner Obituary

JAMES MATTHEW TURNER Our lover (to be preserved always), as created by God-The Father, has made his final exit leaving an Earthly void. James M. Turner expired peacefully Saturday night, November 17, 2001. Mr. Turner was the first son born to Willis and Texana Bailey Turner of Midway (Madisdon County), Texas. He attended Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas after having served as a Fireman in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Turner served as Supervisor at McLean Trucking and retired in 1984. He is survived by Elmyra, his devoted wife of 54 years, his daughters, Gwyndolyn Fouche, Ph.D. and Wyndolyn Turner, grandsons, Cardell and Troy Fouche; and his brothers, Goree and Willis Turner. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Lynell Turner. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 23, 2001, at McCoy and Harrison Funeral Home, Inc., 4918 Martin Luther King Blvd., from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Final Celebration Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2001 at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church with William A. Lawson, officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, Brookside-Lauder Road, and 13401 Eastex Freeway.
