Janet Lenz Obituary

JANET MERRILL MUNZENRIDER LENZ, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 1, 2005. The courage and dignity with which she faced her illness inspired and strengthened the faith of those she knew and loved. Janet was born March 1, 1935 in Helena, MT. Her family moved to Aiken, SC in the early 50's where she met and married Ralph Lawton Lenz in 1956. They moved to Beaumont, TX in 1959 and to Houston in 1969. Janet was an accomplished dancer and an avid lover of opera, ballet, and the symphony. She worked for Dr. Keith Lowell for 10 years and was an alumni of The University of St. Thomas in Houston. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawton, of 48 years and 5 children, Dr. Matthew Lenz, Margie Lenz, and Susan Kelley all of Houston, Eric Lenz of Springfield, MO, Jennifer Mason of Sugar Land, and 17 grandchildren. A Rosary will be prayed at Earthman Bellaire Chapel on Wednesday, May 4th at 4:00 p.m. A Wake Service will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10330 Hillcroft at 7:00 p.m. on May 4th. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Janet will be very dearly missed and long remembered for her loving commitment to her family, her kindness to others, and her steadfast devotion to her faith.
