Joetta Sholes Obituary

JOETTA GIBSON SHOLES, 65, Houston, TX, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 after a three year battle with cancer at VITAS Hospice at The Hampton, Houston, TX. Mrs. Sholes was born January 4, 1942 in Charleston, WV. She had been a beloved school teacher as well as a school counselor in several local school districts for many years when she retired in 2005 from Wunsche High School in the Spring ISD. A private memorial service has been planned for family and close friends for Saturday, March 17, 2007. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bobby J. Sholes, of the home; three children, Teresa S. Lorkovic of Pearland, TX; Robert G. Sholes and his spouse Ashley also of Pearland, TX; Jennifer S. Draper and her spouse Jeffrey of Haymarket, VA; and her sister, Kay G. Nugent and her spouse Larry of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was a truly incredible woman and will be greatly missed by anyone that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, John Robert Sholes and a son-in-law, Albert Lorkovic. Memorial donations may be made to VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund for End of Life Care, 4828 Loop Central Dr., Ste. 890, Houston, TX 77090. Wording should include "In Honor and Memory of Joetta G. I knew Joetta as a college freshman at Morris Harvey in Charleston, WV. Lost contact with her and was so saddened to learn of her death. She was one of the prettiest girls in our class - tall, blond, blue eyes and mischievous!

Bobby, you and your family are in my thoughts.
