John Ondrusek Obituary

JOHN CHARLES ONDRUSEK born 8/23/51 in Sinton, Texas, died 6/27/04 in Houston. John was predeceased by his brother, Chris Ondrusek. He is survived by his mother Catherine Callaway Nix of Houston, father Marvin Ondrusek of Gonzales, brother Michael Ondrusek of San Antonio, sisters Mary Anne Fisher and Tina Kendrick of Houston, beloved nephews Christopher Kendrick & John Tyler Fisher, aunts, uncles & cousins. Lots of folks have danced to the polkas of the Dancehall Boys & John's accordion. Others have had their homes artistically redecorated with his special touch. John's family wish to thank all of his many caregivers, especially Dr. Barbara Trautner of the VA Hospital & Bradley Tate, his good friend & neighbor. A memorial service will be held in the Miller Funeral Home chapel on 7-3-04 at 11:00am.

John was a good friend who left the Polka World much richer, and did a lot to promote polka music. We will miss him. My condolences go out to his entire family.

Condolences to all that read here, especially relatives and closest friends. John did his best to promote his Czech heritage,his recordings will keep him with us for a long time. I play his music frequently on my radio program on Sunday Evening With Doc , KCTI radio in Gonzales. kcti1450.com.
