Kenneth Allen Strode
1946-2022
Kenneth Allen Strode a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corp passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022.
Ken was the son of Charles Beresford Strode and Reva Reba Smith Strode. He was born on August 24, 1946 in Goose Creek, Texas and grew up in Houston, Texas. He attended Jesse H. Jones High School and graduated in 1972 from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Business Degree.
Kenneth Strode enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in September of 1966 until September of 1968. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served during the Vietnam War for thirteen months and was involved in thirteen Military Operations. One being the Battle of Khe Sanh on April 1967.
After his Military Service Ken had a successful business career beginning with Texas Instruments followed by Land Mark Graphics.
Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing. He traveled to Colorado and Africa with friends, searching for the perfect Rack. He spent time fishing at his parents' home on Lake Buchanan.
Ken is survived by his sister Janet Sue Strode and countless number of longtime friends.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A service honoring Ken's Life will occur from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. A committal service with Military Honors will occur from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth's memory may be made to Marine Corp Scholarship Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
