Kevin Casey Obituary

KEVIN JOHN CASEY, 40, devoted husband, loving father, model son and loyal friend, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006. Kevin was born on November 16, 1965 in Madison, Wisconsin. After spending memorable childhood years in Minnesota and Colorado, Kevin and his family moved to Texas. Kevin graduated from Calallen High School in 1984. In 1989, Kevin earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University where he was a founding member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He quickly made a professional impact with his gift of intellect and wit. At the time of his death, Kevin was a dedicated Manager with TurboCare, Inc. in Houston. Kevin married his high school and college comrade and the love of his life in 1993. Together Gretchen and Kevin shared a passion for cooking, fine wine and literature. Kevin cherished his time with his two sons, John Connor, 8, and Cullen Patrick, 5. The love of the outdoors and hunting was foremost in Kevin's leisure activities. He treasured his time with close friends on a variety of hunting excursions. He also inherited his father's admiration of woodworking. Kevin will be missed dearly by his wife, Gretchen; his sons, Connor and Cullen; his parents, John and Joan Casey, his brother, Bryan Casey, his niece and nephew, Lauren and Alex Casey; his mother-in-law, Signe Belew; his father-in-law, David Tischler and his sister-in-law, Jennifer Miller and her husband Tim. Due to his generosity and integrity, Kevin also leaves behind many loving friends. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 10th at Christ the Good Shephard Catholic Community at 18511 Klein Church Road in Spring. In lieu of flowers, a trust account for the children has been set up at Bank of Texas, Attention Trina Nichols, 1401 McKinney #100, Houston, Texas 77010.

Gretchen,

Kevin was one of those friends that was low maintenance, by that I mean he was there if needed and always available at work or at home.

We had many discussions about our parents and I have warm memories of Kevin and his father. I did not have any problem finding his father at the funeral. Kevin was an extension of his dad.

Do not hesitate to call if I can ever do anything for you or the boys.

Gretchen, Mr. & Mrs. Casey, Bryan,

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Kevin's intelligence and sense of humor. Even though I had lost touch with him since High School I know through the comments of others and hearing about him through his family over the years that he was a remarkable son, husband and father. Turn to God in this time of mourning and though it is difficult, ultimately he will sustain you. My family has your family in our daily prayers.

Kevin and I developed a close friendship as we shared good times both at work and play on several hunting trips. More importantly he was a mentor to me, a man of character who you could trust to stand with you through rough times. It was an honor to know him and I will sorely miss him.
