LARRY GOTTLIEB, 46 Larry Phelps Gottlieb passed away December 24, 2007 at home in his adopted hometown of Glendale California after a 6 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Family was at his side. Born in Houston, Texas March 28, 1961, Larry began acting at the age of 9 years in the Bellaire High School performance of "Gypsy" He remained a performer all his life. A gifted singer and dancer, he was the lead singer for the Los Angeles based band "Loose Ties" at the time of his passing. A graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston, Larry was also a 1983 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. His love for performance was his reason for being. He performed comedy and music in Houston, Dallas, Chicago, New York, and L.A. He was the master of improvisational comedy, no one ever did it better than Larry. He had a unique sense of what was funny and an unbelievable energy level. No wonder Larry was blessed to have made and kept so many friends from all the times in his life. He was so funny and such a joy to be around. I was very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I have fond memories of Larry, whom I knew from Emanu El, BBYO and school. What a wild and funny guy. I remember him literally bouncing of the walls in the corridor before Hebrew school. My condolences to his wife and family.

Larry was one of the funniest guys I ever had the plaesure of working with. He was the fifth member to join our little Houston improv group called the WHAT COMEDY THEATRE. We used to perform at the Boatyard Bar on Sunday nights...a night I always looked forward to thanks to Larry. You will be missed my friend...woooooooooooowoooooooooo!

The sun will seem to burn a little less brightly without Larry. Just thinking of him over the years has always brought a smile to my face and a laugh. Truly a kind and generous soul, and unique among all of my friends in this life.

So sorry to hear this news. I didn't know Larry personally but knew his parents. I worked for Dick Gottlieb at the City of Houston for 4 years and knew of his intense love for his family and he and Rilda had a bunch of great kids. My condolences to Larry's family and to the Dick Gottlieb family.

I spent four wonderful years with Larry at Texas A&M University while he was a member of the TAMU Singing Cadets. To know Larry was to love Larry, to think about Larry makes your heart feel happy. Larry will always be remembered fondly by his Singing Cadet Family.
