LILYAN MINKIN FEINSTEIN

On Saturday, October 10, 2009, we lost our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmotherand aunt, LILYAN MINKINFEINSTEIN, 92. Lilyna died at home surrounded by her lovingfamily. Born in Columbus Ohio to Samuel and Ida Minkin, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Daniel J. Feinstein. Lilyan is survived by her beloved sons, Jodie Feinstein and his wifeElizabeth, Sidney Feinstein and his wife, Shelby; beloved granddaughter, Sarah Rebecca Feinstein and cherished great grandson Kaleb John Feinstein; and numerous special nieces and nephews. At the age of 23 Lilyan was elected president of B'ani B'rith in Ohio and eight surrounding states. She was also very involved with the Greater Houston-Galveston area B'nai Brith. It was not uncommon to see Lilyan knitting caps for Texas Children's Hospital or needlepointing a Chegal Window for Beth Yeshurun Synagogue. Lilyan was also a member of Hadassah and Beth Yeshurun Sisterhood. Lilyan was truly loved and enjoyed her entire family. She especially loved looking at a picture of her great-grandson Kaleb with a blue dog bowl on his head. No matter if you called her "Mom", "Bubbie" or "Aunt", she will be greatly missed by her whole family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 3 P.M., in the Beth Yeshurun Cemetery (Post Oak), Rabbi Jack Segal will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
