Lisa- I miss you every day. I know you're so proud of Brad and Brian. And I know you're helping other souls in the same way you did on Earth. With your warmth, compassion, and laughter. You're likely sitting on a Board taking down all of the important things and guiding as you did here in your career. And you're looking after children the same way you are with your sons now and with my children. I love you, Lisa. You were meant for such a long life here. But true to you. You have an immense purpose and zest for love, the Lord, and life no matter what. I just miss you so, my dear friend ❤

I worked with Lisa on the REX Pipeline Project for over two years, then when my assignment was over I moved to the Northeast with my daughter, now I am living in Sneads Ferry, NC and I just found today about these bad news, I am in shock. I remember her as a great boss, a care and sweet person, working with her was a good experience and I will keep her in my memories and my prayers, what angelical person she was.

Dearest Lisa,

I am saddened today at the reminder of our loss just one year ago, but I have comfort in knowing that you continue to watch over us from Heaven every day that you are missed. Madelaine and Alexandra pray for you still and I'm sure you can appreciate their kind words like any mother would. Madelaine has assured me that you have been helping Grandpa Richardson get all settled in and to that I say, thank you. For all the beautiful sunsets you have painted in the sky for us to see, they don't go unnoticed.

I miss our 'mom' talks and your encouraging words--I miss YOU.

Love,

Cindy

Phil, it's been a really long time but I have many memories of our friendship at UT and the times we visited in Houston. I am so sorry to hear about Lisa and hope you find God's peace through this difficult time. I will never forget her contagious smile. Our prayers are with you and God will take care of her until you see her again.

February 23, 2015

Lisa, you are missed everyday by your family and friends. Your wit, strength and tenacity - this still does not seem real as it was just a year ago you and Phil were vacationing and our last visit was a festive Christmas party. I miss you and hope you are looking down in pride at your boys and husband who miss you dearly. Heidi

Dear Phil, Brad, and Brian,
We are overwhelmed with grief and find it difficult to accept the news of Lisa's passing. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Lisa amazed and inspired us with her courage and spirit during her illness. She fought so hard for all of you and never gave up hope or lost her faith. I will always remember her most for her beautiful spirit! Lisa showed us how to live and love. She will be so missed!

As a friend and co-worker since our days at Enron, I knew how hard working and devoted she was, but her greatest love and devotion was for you, Phil, and the boys. Brad and Brian, that love and devotion began long before you were born! Nothing brought her more joy than sharing news of your college plans and successes. Will miss those emails.

May Lisa's memory be eternal and may her life continue to be lived through each of you.
With much love and our deepest sympathy,
Lary, Maria, Melanie and Spiro Pavlou

Words can not express what a marvelous person Lisa was to work with and to be around. She will be remembered for the dedication she gave to her job and the support and encouragement she gave to others. What I will always treasure is her great sense of humor and her wonderful laughter. I hope that these thoughts can give comfort to her family as they remember all the great things she accomplished with her life.

February 18, 2015

Phil,
I have so many fond memories of Lisa. I remember she used to always laugh about Brad pulling the bows out of Lauren's hair. We had a lot of fun laughing and pulling practical jokes back in my Houston days. I will always remember the sound of her sweet voice. You married an amazing girl and I hope that you will find peace knowing she is watching over you and the boys. The Ayars family will pray for you, Brad and Brian during this difficult time.

Lisa lit up my workdays at Kinder Morgan with a kind word, her warm smile and we shared some good laughs when time permitted. I will always remember her with great affection. She was kind, generous and such a beautiful spirit! My deepest sympathy to her wonderful family whom she shared many a sweet story about and was so proud of. I am so grateful to have known her and call her my friend.

February 13, 2015

I'm not even sure where to start...saying Lisa was an amazing woman and friend just doesn't seem like enough. I feel so blessed to have known Lisa even though it was only a short 2 years. We filled out college applications together for her son Brad and my daughter Haley. We talked every day throughout their Senior year about how to handle sending them off to college and us (as moms) getting through it. Without Lisa I never would have made it through that year. Her smile, as I walked into her office each day, brought a smile to my face even if I wasn't ready to smile! Haley and Brad became friends and hopefully will maintain that friendship as years go by. I loved you Lisa and am honored to say you were my friend. Leslie & Richard Fink and Haley & Hunter Ellison

I met Lisa many years ago when I was visiting my Sutton relatives in Birmingham. Her beauty, smile, and the way she made me feel at ease, has stayed with me. Lisa was such a positive, sweet and gentle soul. Always made you feel so important when you were in her company. I will lift Phil, Brad and Brian up in prayer. Heaven received an amazing angel.

February 13, 2015

I was thinking of Lisa and preparing to email her when I heard the sad news of her passing. Over the past year, Lisa and I corresponded and shared in our separate battles with cancer. She was always supportive and retained her humor throughout our ordeals. I met Lisa at Kinder Morgan and wish we had been able to know one another better. I am shaken and saddened.
For Lisa's family, please know she will be missed by many. Her legacy is in all the fond memories of her we will have in the coming days and years.

To all of the beautiful Sutton Family,

The Billings family feels such
Profound sadness . Lisa and I (Christie) were office neighbors and colleagues at Enron and Kinder Morgan for over 20 years. My children's pictures are on her office wall, because she was so loving in her support of everyone's family. She was with me every step Of the way: marrying my first husband Leonard (with whom she also worked), with his death from Pancreatic Cancer in 2000, marrying my husband Ed in 2003 , and in adopting each of our 4 children. Our children, especially the girls, idolized Lisa. Our older daughter, now 14 , is shy and quiet---Lisa ALWAYS made her feel like the most special person alive! That's what Lisa did for all of us!

I know my late husband Leonard welcomed her to heaven with eternal joy!

I (and all of us) cry selfishly for our loss of her spirit , positivity, faith, friendship and love....God obviously needed a bit more of that in heaven --I am sure she is " holding class".

Thank you God for the MOST PRECIOUS gift of our dear, precious Lisa. Her love will live in all of us forever.

All our love, from the Billings family

I have known Lisa for 32 years. I can tell you she was the kindest and most positive person I have ever known. When she told me about the cancer in November, she had had the disease for a long time. She did not want to tell me because she knew that I would take it hard and was waiting until she had something positive to say. She was always thinking of others first! She said that when she told people what she was going through, they acted like she was dying! She had a fighting spirit and truly believed she could win this battle. The loss of Lisa has left a big hole in my heart. But I grieve more for her family. If she could impact my life in the wonderful way she did, then I cannot imagine their life without her. I know the familly's strong faith will get them through this and allow them to carry on. Anyone knowing Lisa would realize, she would not want sadness dwelling in their hearts. That was just Lisa - sadness and negativity were never part of her vocabulary. May her family and dear friends be enclosed in a circle of love that Lisa had for them. I am sure she will make that happen- Lisa knows no bounds!

This is a short business and personal perspective about my dear friend Lisa.

Lisa and I worked closely together for over twenty five years. Thousands of hours, thousands of projects and reports.

We worked together through the heady period of the growth of Enron Corp.; then worked thru the painful abyss of its notorious bankruptcy, salvaging profitable pipeline assets left after the collapse, at Cross Country Energy; and finally, through serendipity, we moved on to real growth at Kinder Morgan.

In business Lisa was tenacious when it came to quality and detail, and took no prisoners if work product was substandard.

Lisa was also creative and innovative and could, as they say, "run" with any business assignment and produce, yes, a high quality result.

I loved her daily "to do" list. She maintained that discipline the entire time we worked together.

Lisa was also kind and generous; had a great sense of humor, quick laugh, and beautiful smile. Her office was always filled with people, coming to talk to her - about anything and everything. She was a caring listener. She remembered birthdays.

Lisa was very proud of her family; Phil's accomplishments, and the growth and successes of Brad and Brian. She had a daily tale about each of them. Lisa was a person of faith and she often said she experienced miracles in Brad and Brian.

I am truly blessed to have had Lisa in my life, we all are. I miss her. Heaven has a new angel.
