I apologize to the family for a very late tribute. I knew him as cadets at West Point, LTs in the 82d and again in Panama 75-77. Great soldier, great character, memorable guy. Jerry White 61´

I just learned of Mark's passing. I was S-1 of 3d Battalion, 5th Infantry in Panama in 1970-71, and as XO he was my immediate boss. He always demanded my best work, but boy did we have fun doing it! I am grateful for the high standard he set for me, and I wish I could tell him the positive impact it had on my post-Mark Lowrey life.

I just learned of Mark's passing. He was a remarkable man whom i am proud to have known. His intelligence, wit, and wisdom never ceased to amaze. But it was his loyal friendship I and his friends knew we could count on and treasure. He was immensely proud of his family to whom I extend deepest condolences.

I was blessed with a truly remarkable and extraordinary father who had the perspective of a historian and the heart of a lion. He was an exceptional father; I will miss him all the remaining days of my life.

First of all. I send my most most sincere condolences to the Mark Lowery family!
Mark was my company commander in South Viet Nam 1967. He was a great leader of men! I went out on many patrols in the jungle's of Viet Nam with Mark. We survived the Battle of Hill 172 December 8th, 1967. I was there when he was wounded the first two times. Mark was tough as nails and then some. He was truly a no-nonsense commander! If you were not doing your job, he would surely let you know. All of the soldier's in Delta Company that he Commanded, highly respected Mark. I was truly saddened to hear of his passing. He will never be forgotten. I can say that he was my friend, and Viet Nam Brother. May He Rest In Peace. God Bless all of you.
