Missing you. Another Alief Alum passed suddenly and it brought me right back to the day of your service. It's been amazing watching your children grow older and thrive. I see little pieces of you. I miss all the middle school years and then again during college. I miss our runs. I miss our talks. Until I see you again....Tara

Dear Mark,

Understanding life is one of the most difficult things for me in this life. Understanding death is even more difficult. Aunt Judy and Uncle Kim are now with you. I umderstand less about their sensless and untimely deaths than I did yours. I know that all of you are now at peace and in a much better place. I miss all of you so much and you will always be on my mind and in my heart. I hope that you are looking down on your mom, your brothers, Kendra, all of the little ones and I and all of the Hammond clan, helping us through these terribly tough times.

I love you, miss you and need to know you are OK every single day...

For my Nephew Mark:

Not one day passes that I don't think of you. From our times on the train trips to the times that you and I spent together camping in Kerrville with your cousins. I cherish those times and wish that they had not ended so suddenly.

I have not been able to write about those times - it is still hard.

You are sorely missed by all. I just wish that I could have responded to you in your hour of need.

I know that you are at rest now and I am thankful for that.

Love you,

Uncle Tommy

Mark, it has been a year since I last spoke to you and almost a year since I lost you. There is not a day that goes by that I dont' think of you. I can still hear your voice and see your smile. This past year has been full of firsts. The first Thanksgiving, first Christmas, first New Year, first Easter, and first birthday without you. It has been a year of memories that bring tears to my eyes(happy tears). I miss you so much. I know you are in God's kingdom and looking down on and encourging me. Life without you isn't easy but it is going forward. I wait until the day God brings us together. Love....Mom

I want to say God Bless to all of my friends and family that have been there for me this last year. You have all have held me up.

Dear Mark ~

It has been almost 4 months now... and the pain doesn't diminish at all. I miss you so MUCH... so very, very much. But I know you keep watch over us... and I hope you see me when I wave to you, and hear me when I talk to you. If you do, you're probably sick of me talking to you! But I need to feel like you're not that far away.

You were always so much more than a cousin to me... you were more like a big brother. Whenever I needed help, whether it be a shoulder to cry on or a tire that needed changing in a dark parking lot, you were there without a moment's hesitation.

Your smile dances in my head... and your laughter rings in my ears. And I will miss you, and adore you, until the day we are together again.

your loving cousin,

Gina

When I learned of Mark's passing I was deeply hurt even though we had not seen each other in many years. Mark and I were friends and team mates during our four years at Elsik H.S and we then went on to North Texas together as well. The impression he made on me has not in any way diminished since we parted ways. He was larger than life both on the football field and off. He was a leader and someone we all could look to for inspiration when the chips were down. If a big play needed to be made, Mark was the one lay it on the line. That attitude lies at the heart of all my memories of Mark. He will be missed.

I went to Elsik with Mark and was always glad he was on our side at the basketball games. Mark was a great fan and even a better friend.

Although I had not seen Mark in years, my wife and I ran into him and his precious little daughter at the Mall and in two seconds you could tell the love and care he had for his children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, his children and to the Rovello family.

Dear Rovello Family,

I am quite sure that no words can express what you are feeling. I am so saddened to even be signing a "guest book" like this for Mark. He and I attended Elsik together and even though we haven't seen each other for years and years, he is someone that you instantly remember when his name is mentioned. His smile was such a wonderful one to see! My family will be lifting you up in prayer - praying that God's strength will carry you through. Jeremiah 29:11.

Charlie, Jenni, Chip, Jonathan and all of your Respective families: I was truly saddened to hear of Mark's passing. Having grown up with Kimber, the Rovello family was much like my own. I remember going to Six Flags, hanging out watching movies, and going to Port Aransas. Mark was the type of person that you simply could not get enough of. Whenever you were with Mark, you knew that you had his undivided attention because he made you feel like the most important person there ever was. That was just him. He would give you the shirt off of his back and never complain. More than anything as I look back at pictures, I will miss Mark's smiling face for his family and his precious children. I hope that you all find the strength and courage through God to handle this because no matter how it hurts, Mark is better now, helping take care of others and being a guardian angel for those that need him.

Dear Andrew and Isabella,

Uncle Chip and I want you to know that we really really really love you! We are so sorry that your daddy is gone from you, but like I told Cheyenne Kyle and Michael, the cool thing is , is your daddy is a guardian angel now, how wonderful and lucky is that! Even though we don't see you much (and are very very sadden by the situations)you can come over, play, or just be with us anytime. Aunt Chris will make you a pot of "Suga" and we can do the same things your daddy did when he was a little one like you. You can play with your cousins too, like your daddy did when he was a little one like you. If you ever need to be close to your daddy, give mommy a hug and a kiss and just hold her, because she was so close to daddy, and if you squeeze hard enough, you may be able to feel him. We don't know where God is taking you next, but we will "always" be family and we "always" will be here to love you and anything you may need. Please come to us soon. Hugs and Kisses Always and forever!!!!!!!!

Love,

Dear Mr and Mrs. Rovello,

My deepest thought and prays go out to you and Mark’s wife and kids. No words can fully describe the joy it was to have know your son and grown up with him from the 6th grade at Holub and on through High School at Elsik. I will always remember the good times we used to have playing football in middle school and high school. As I thing back to those times the reason we all loved to be around Rovell (as us football players would call him sometimes) was because his spirit was so bright and engaging and he could always make us laugh and smile. I will always remember the good times we all used to have your house playing basketball in the driveway and playing centipede in the bedroom. Mark was a good friend and someone whom I will always remember. He touched a lot of lives and everyone who knew him loved him and will miss him.

I considered Mark a true friend for life. We met as teamates together entering UNT as freshmen away from home for the first time. A group of us became as close as friends can get. He was such a strong personality that brought many of us together. His energy will be one of the things I remember most. It was infectious and didn't allow you to be down while with him. He knew one speed in everything he did. A great teamate and even better friend. Regardless of the situation Mark was one of the first people in the world you wanted on your side.

Wednesday was such a strange day. Many of us talked that day that haven't heard from one another in some time. It was sad but at the same time we were talking and telling stories of great times with Mark. The memories of Mark will not fade. Even in his passing he brought us together with smiles.

When I heard of the death of Mark from my husband, Gary, I instantly remembered the smile and the joy he always shared. Mark was always such a positive person and I am sure that his energy and enthusiasm for life is going to be missed immensely with all his friends and family. I am sending you my deepest condolences for your tremendous loss. God bless!

Mark, I love you. I miss you. Our childhood moments shared together will always be vibrant in my memory. We had such great times together. We are so blessed to have such amazing moms that share not only their beautiful faces, but also so much love for family. I will never forget the wonderful vacations together. The summers at the beach with Nanny and Pappy, the Rovellos, and the Hammonds are such precious memories for me. I remember riding boogie boards and searching for sea shells and of course always great food!! You will be missed terribly by all of us who love you, but know that we will meet again when we all go home to the Lord. Thank you for your beautiful smile and your kind gentle touch. You will always remain a wonderful memory in my heart. Blessings to your children, may they always remember you through your family. Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9. Your cousin, Kimberlee.

Mark was a happy child with such a sunny, carefree way. He was the family's golden boy. He even seemed to flourish as a teenager: bouyant, joyful, and filled with energy. As a young man, he shared with me, in a few precious conversations, his love of reading, of art, and his eagerness to explore new avenues of thought. The sweet child I knew later touched me as a kindred spirit.

I will not forget you, Mark.

Uncle Charles and Aunt Jeni, I love you guys so much! A peice of me is gone. A larger memory of my cousin will always be in my heart! Chip and Jonathan, you guys are my brothers and I love you very much. Call me anytime 858-345-1001. To Mark, I wish I could talked to you and got you out here to California and visited and search through some things, but you are in a safe place having some pasta fixed by Noni and only watching the Aggie games where we beat the hell out of t.u. I love you brother and have a football and a surfboard waiting for me! I love you Mark!..Your Cousin, Scott

Mr and Mrs Rovello, the memories I keep of Mark are quite distinct and honorably special.... (we were members of the class of 89). Mark was rarely found without a beautiful smile or a joke to share. I have been deeply touched by your family's loss; but continue to trust in the Lord's sovereignty for us all. psalm 32:7

Jennie and Charlie,

We are so very sorry for your loss. Mark was so full of life when we saw him with his wife and little son at Matt Winter's wedding a few years ago. That's the way we will remember him.

We have very fond memories of the T Ball days when our boys played together. Mark was always the winning hero of the game.

I know he will be missed by his family and friends but you will have happier times together when you meet again.

Please let us know if we can do anything for you. We will keep Mark and your family in our prayers.
