Although we did not personally know Michael, we have always known that he was a wonderful father, friend and husband. Our family prays for everyone that knew him or knew of him and will always be in our thoughts. Michael, you raised a beautiful family and I know you are looking down on Earth gleaming from ear to ear watching each one of your miracles happen. Heaven has gained one heck of an angel and you will be missed forever and ever to say the least

Dearest Julie and Family,

"Long time no see" but always remembered.

You, Mike and your children have been greatly missed from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for many years. You were a huge part of building our brand new parish.

Know that we are thinking of you all and holding you in our hearts and prayers.

No better man anywhere than Mike Werner.

Love, Mary Jo

Julie and family, I was very sad to hear of Mike's death Sunday when I was told after Mass. I will miss seeing him each Sunday when he is getting ready for the 9:00AM Mass when I am leaving the 7:30 Mass. Julie, do you remember that Shirley was also called home by our Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday. I pray that you feel as I did that his being called home on Easter Sunday was God's blessing. I wiil keep you and Mike in my prayers. God Bless,

April 3, 2013

Julie, children and Mary Pat,

We still can not believe that Mike has left us to be in the presence of God.

We became part of the family eighteen years ago, but long before that we knew all of you from St. Elizabeth church - who can forget Mike smiling and singing in his deep voice as he walked down the aisles. You can be assured that now all the angels in Heaven are enjoying the new member of their celestial choir.

Mike may not be there physically, but he will always be there with you in soul - love never dies.

May God ease the pain in your heart and comfort you with His love.

Dear Julie and family,

The news of Mike's passing was such a shock. I know it's been years since "The Werners" were a part of St. EAS, however you left your mark on many of our hearts. May God bless you all during the difficult days ahead, and may your memories, and the love you all have for each other and Mike, bring joy and laughter again soon!
May he rest in peace, amen!
With deepest sympathy and prayers

Julie, my heart sank when I heard the news. I looked forward to coming to 9am mass to "work" with Mike. I enjoyed patrolling the back sections with him and enjoyed the military precision he brought to our "job". I still hear his deep baritone voice belting out the songs and hope I never stop hearing it. It'd be cliche to say he felt like a father to me because the reality is he felt more like a friend and a brother. Who knew a Muskie and a Bearcat could ever have gotten along so well. We'll miss you Big Mike! Prayers and love for you and your family in this difficult time.

Mike was a wonderful, giving person. He was always willing to help anyone in need. I remember, so many times at the FBEM, he would work so hard to put the booklets together and lecture on their contents each week along with Deacon Bob. He would be willing to have the presentation even if we only had a couple of people attending. He always said these people are here to find a job and we must help them. May God Bless him and his family......

Aunt Julie.... we are shocked by the news!! All of our prayers and thoughts are with you and your children. My children have heard plenty of stories of Uncle Mike over the last day. My kids had a great time meeting with Jennifer and her boys in Minnesota this past summer and they all said how much Jennifer looks like Mike. I wish we could be there to ease your pain and provide comfort but please know that we are thinking of you and praying for your family. Tell everyone hi and give them a hug for us. Julie, my prayers and thoughts are with you. I will miss hearing Mike sing as we stood at the back of the church, his quick nod at me as I walked past him after communion on my way to the door and his gentle nature. St. Laurence lost a devoted usher and heaven has gained a faithful servant. May Mike rest in peace.

A great guy!!! I didn't know Mike, yet I visited with him every Sunday at 9:00. We spent time together in God's house, and now he's with God forever. We will miss him, and pray to him.
