Nell Sutton Obituary

Nell Marguerite Schwem Bunner Sutton (93) died peacefully in her sleep on July 10, 2013. She was born on January 12, 1920 in Vicksburg, MS to Daniel and Nell Schwem and was sister to three brothers, James "Bubba", Daniel, and Bernard. She married James Roy Bunner with whom she had two sons, James Roy and Joseph Clifton. The family moved to Corpus Christi, TX in 1949 where Nell worked for Houston Natural Gas Company. In 1957, the family relocated to Houston, TX where Nell worked as Executive Assistant to the President of National Exploration Company. In 1966, following the death of her first husband, Nell married Francis Eugene Sutton with whom she traveled the world and shared her life for 35 years until his death in July 2001.
Nell was a social butterfly, a fashionista, a chef, a therapist, a friend, a confidant, a caretaker, an optimist, and a true Southern Belle. She never met a stranger and accepted everyone unconditionally. Her sparkling smile lifted all spirits, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the room.
Nell is predeceased by her parents, her brothers and her sister-in-law, Alpha Schwem, her husbands, and her daughter-in-law Franceane Bunner. She is survived by her son Roy Bunner and his wife Eleanor, her son Cliff Bunner, her grandchildren, Lisa Bunner, Joe Bunner and his wife Melissa, and Jim Bunner, her two great granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie Bunner, and multiple generations of devoted nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077 on Friday, July 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
Nell…We love you more than ice cream, peanut butter, chocolate candy, and popcorn…and that's A BUNCH! God Bless You, "Mama"…"Mimi"…"Aunt Nell"…You made a difference!

My father, T.S. McDaniel, worked with Nell at National Exploration and had only wonderful things to say about her. I think he continued to keep up with her until he passed away in 2010. I am so sorry for your loss. Your family is in our prayers.
