Omar and I studied together at San Jacinto College. Although we never stayed in touch and I moved to Dubai, I was always hopeful to reconnect with him some day. I am so heartbroken to know of his passing away. He was a warm and friendly person and always made everyone feel good.

I noticed no one wrote to you this year, but don't think you're not on someone's mind!
I was 11 when you passed away. The only cousin of any sort of actual relation I can remember.. I remember having trouble pronouncing your name, and how often you tried to correct me. I can remember the smile on your dad's face when you'd make me smile as a little squirt. I remember when my dad died, how much love I felt from you, your dad and Uncle Deen.
Most importantly, I remember the day we said our goodbyes to you. I remember seeing Jennifer holding your sweet baby girl to her chest, seeing how she stood strong for you and your daughter.. I'll never forget her strength!
I'll always remember you Galen.. Even if I only remember bits and pieces! I wish you could meet my son.. I swear I'd make SURE he mispronounced your name.. just to be the brat I've ALWAYS been!

You have been on my mind a lot as I am sure you know. I got to visit with your mom, your daughter, and your wife last month. It was so good to see them. Everywhere we went, there seemed to be a monarch....God's way of comforting us, I suppose. I attended the wedding of my best friend's son this weekend and all I could think of was you and Jennifer. You were wonderful together and I am so glad you had that experience before you had to go. I just pray for her always, how hard it has been. I sure do miss you!
