The first Pat Robertson story that I heard goes back to the 1950’s if not earlier. An unexpected storm was coming in and Pat had a barge-mounted crane and tugboat tied up to a dolphin in the Bay. Pat swam from the shore to the rig, during an increasing storm, and moved it to safety. That was just like Pat; but what really matters can be said in fewer words: Pat Robertson was the kind of man God had in mind. He was always loving and giving to me, and because of Pat, my life has been richer. He was a blessing to the rest of us in the very same way Betty has been a blessing to him!

Dear Betty and family,
Pat was always such an inspiration, example, teacher, friend and pillar of strength for me and for so many others at Austin. We all loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.

Dear Betty and Family,
I met Pat about 30 years ago when I began my career as a young engineer with Austin Building Company in Dallas. He was an inspiration to me as an engineer and an employee of Austin because of his friendliness and optimism. He was an inspiration to me as a person because of his love and dedication to his family. My prayers are with each of you.

Dear Betty and family,
How saddened Mary K. and I were to hear of Pat's passing. In our relatively short but very nurturing friendship we had opportunities to see Pat in many roles; husband, father, counselor, father of the groom, grandfather, golfer, and friend. In each role he was a star and his name will remain lighted in our hearts as a marquee towards which I hope all will point their feet as they seek comfort in the days ahead.
Betty, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this most difficult time.
With great respect,

Dear Betty and your and Pat's marvelous family -
This news is unexpected and saddens the entire Fleming family. Pat Robertson was (and is) a part of all our lives. I don't remember not knowing you all. Pam and Marty confess the same and of course Mother and Dad know and love you as a pivotal part of their life and ministry.
The memories - where do you start? I begin when you all were our high-school counselors at MYF: Constantly involved in our lives, caring about what your "charges" were up to, intervening when necessary in bad "youth" decisions but in general adding to that enormously palpable feeling that St. Luke's was our family. You all ranked right up in the "parent and best friend" category.
I for one will miss Pat. Cheryl and I looked for you at Cindy's service and somehow missed you.
Please know that the entire Fleming-Shamblin-Curtis family has you in its thoughts and prayers. We all know the promises of our Lord and look forward to that happy day that has no end and no beginning. I can't guarantee much in this life but, I can guarantee that Pat will be there with his trademark "huge smile" and "bear hug".
Mother, Dad, Pam, Ken, Marty, Steve and Cheryl join me in this.
With our respect and Love,
Jon Hugh

I met Pat in 1962 when I started to work for Austin Bridge Co. I really enjoyed Pat's sense of humor
and found him to be a very competent and confidential individual. Rest in peace, Pat!

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Robertson in the early 80s. He was and remains one of my favorite all time people. God bless Mr. Robertson, a tennis player extrordinaire.
