In 1963 JFK challenged America to put a man on the moon before the end of that decade. Texans were proud and excited to be a big part of that effort. Now that's a force to reckon with; a proudful Texan. Later Audrey and Paul
worked at NASA.

When ever I met Paul over the last six years, working together on the APC project, I called him "Partner" now I have to say he was much more than that, he became a good friend of all of us Germans at Wincor Nixdorf.
We send our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones.

I've known and worked with Paul on the IBM Automated Postal Center project team for USPS since 1999. Paul was one of the most enthusiastic and fun people I have ever worked with at IBM. Paul was the best of the best and we will all miss him dearly.

To members of Paul’s family and especially Terry and Derek,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Paul. Paul and I worked together as team members at Loral Aerospace in Houston. He was a wonderful colleague, who was always ready with a smile and friendly greeting. As a project manager and later test group manager, I could always count on Paul to take on work with energy, enthusiasm, and success. I enjoyed hearing stories about his family, especially Derek’s activities. He was so excited when he purchased a portable basketball goal for Derek. I also enjoyed hearing about Paul's childhood visits to Scranton, PA. Our team at Loral Aerospace enjoyed many parties outside work and Paul was always a willing participant. Paul truly loved his family, work, and life.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May special memories, loving family members and friends, and quiet prayer bring you comfort.
With my deepest condolences,
Sandy

I started SFA the Fall Semester of 88. I can clearly remember the first time that semester that I went out to the SFA Observatory. Paul was there working with the 18 inch telescope. The stepper motors made a very interesting, and unique sound when they were running while moving the telescope from object to object. I so well recall Paul saying that when someone ask what he best liked about working with the 18 inch scope, he would reply the 'cool sound' that it made. May the Driskell family find peace and comfort during these next days and months.

Paul was my lab instructor for Modern Physics here at SFA. He was an excellent teacher and I remember much of the material to this day. I especially remember his seminar on the automation of the 41" telescope although that was 20 years ago. It was inspiring for me to watch him work at the SFA Observatory. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
I maintain an alumni page so if you can tell us where he worked and lived after graduation we would love to hear about that here at SFA.

Paul was a student in my department at SFA in the mid to late 1980’s. To many of us it seems like yesterday that he graduated and began his life after college. Physics was not necessarily an easy field for Paul, but he liked the challenges that it brought, and he met them head-on with success. I enjoyed having Paul in class as all of us who knew him did. He was well-liked by his peers as well. Paul became a good ambassador for our department and for SFA. We shall miss him a great deal. The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stephen F. Austin State University sends its deepest sympathies to his family.

Paul was my graduate student at SFA and helped me develop the code to automatically point the 41-inch telescope at a target star. This was far in advance of similar programs in the field today. He was a pleasure to work with and he will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Paul. Here at the office we will always remember Paul for his kind heart, warm smile and positive outlook on life. There are no words to express the heartfelt sympathy. I was an associate of Paul’s at IBM. I thought of Paul as a “scout” … helpful, friendly, courteous, and kind. He always seemed capable of handling the responsibilities of his work in very competent manners. His contributions to his workplace will undoubtedly be missed.
