I've been thinking about Peter these last few weeks and smiling about some of the memories that I have of him. I can't help but laugh when I think about the Thanksgiving Day Parades and his Goofy cap or the many times I was tricked by the answering maching message. Peter was our "go to" guy who knew how to do or fix just about anything. When it came to helping out his friends his answer was always "yes".
While these last months have been tough on all of you, I want you to know that I was inspired by the way Peter confronted this illness and by the example he set. A man's true character is revealed by adversity and I think that the way Peter chose to live these last months showed all of us the incredible depth of his character.
I value the friendship that I had with Peter and I will miss him. Gerry, Nikki and Russell, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

God truly blessed me the day i met Peter Traylor and his family. I smile at the mere thought of him - his smile, his endless energy, his totally generous spirit.
He has been a fine example to me of a truly giving person and I am a much better person having known him.
Gerry, Nikki and Russ, I grieve your loss - such a huge loss. But as I type this and think of you, I realize that you have him in you as your family unit. He will be cheering us on from heaven but he left us with you - here to share all that was wonderful about him while we had him with us.
God bless you, each one. Peter, pray for us!

Peter, We all love you very much. I remember the day you were born and I often took care of you - (thought you were our prescious cute doll baby).
You have such a wonderful mind which I see in all 4 of your loving children. You did a great job rasing your kids with Gerry by your side.
We will always LOVE you very much.

Gerry,
Thank you so much for having me come down to Houston for my final visit with my brother. When we parted I gave him a big huge and he huged back. Neither one of us knew that he would pass away a short 36 hours later. I am so thankful that I got those final days with my little brother.
Nikki and Russell,
Your dad was a unique kid growing up. Since I was the youngest girl I had to grow up with all the boys. Peter was the organizer, fixer and happiest kid of all of us. I see a number of his strengths in both of you. Also having the traits of your mother helps. Peter and I were very close probably because of having to share our birthdays for so many years as we grew up. Our birthdays are only 10 days apart.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
Lots of Love,
Kitty or Aunt Kitty

My Dad was the most special man I have ever met. He had this thing where he was always so proud of my sister and I that he would exaggerate all of our accomplishments. I'm pretty sure he told some people I could fly. I miss him so much. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Traylor Family-
We did not hear of Peter's passing until last Sunday. We are sorry we missed the service.
I will miss sharing his passion for the game of soccer. As a coach, he made every game a big one for our kids. And, when he was the official in charge of our adult league matches, we knew things would be under control.
Knowing his strength, courage and resourcefulness it was easy to imagine that nothing could take him from this earth.
We will miss him.

Peter my baby brother who I cared for so much as his older sister should. I'll always remember him in the little things he did with me even if we did not have long conversations...... As an adult he had such wonderful energy which I always envied, and I'm glad he got so much praise and reward from that wonderful gal he married all those 23 years. I hope Gerry, you will always stay a big part of our family.

Gerry, Nikki and Russell,
I was sad and stunned to learn of Peter's death. I did not know he was battling cancer. Peter was one of the kindest of most upbeat individuals I've known. He always had time for his children and all their friends. He was a great scout leader, soccer and basketball coach. I regret not being able to say Good Bye. My prayers are with your family. I bet Peter has already volunteered in heaven to lead something. God Bless the Traylors.

Gerry, I am so sorry to hear about Peter's passing. He is still watching over you and your family. Look for signs from him like a penny on ground, that is him saying "I love you" to you (remember the song Pennies from Heaven). Pick up the penny and tell him hello.
May God bring you and your family peace.
I am sending you a huge hug!

Peter Traylor was a great Cub Scout leader who led the St. Thomas More Pack 99 for years and did everything with joyful service. He always embraced work and looked for ways to help others at all the Parish events. Peter coached, refereed, and played soccer with the same enthusiasm he lived his life.
Gerry, you and your family will be in our prayers, and may Peter's soul rest in the peace of Christ.
