Rev. Robert Lee Mitchell went home to receive his heavenly reward on September 1, 2016.
Born on August 27, 1933 in Hornbeck, LA, Robert thrived for 83 years. On September 8, 1955, he married his love, Grace. While working for GMAC he began attending classes at Texas Bible College. In 1969 he moved to Dayton, OH to assume leadership of Apostolic Lighthouse Church. In 1974, he returned to Houston, TX to pastor Stonewall Pentecostal Church, until 1993. Robert retired from pastoring, founded Helps Ministries Int'l and continued to travel the globe extensively. The hallmarks of his life were genuine faith in God and a genuine love of people - especially his family.

Prophet Mitchell was an anointed, gifted man full of the power and spirit of God. He unselfishly gave his life in the service of the Lord. He loved people and was passionate about the transformation of the souls of mankind. We loved him at the Temple of Grace Ministries and our lives have been enriched by having known him. Continued prayers and blessings to his family. Rest in the presence of the Lord.

So sudden to find out yesterday that Prophet Robert Mitchell is no longer with us in this world but is with our Heavenly Father,I was talking about him in our last crusade in Uganda Africa last year,my prayer is with the family and friends who are affected,he was a powerful man of God.

My memories take me back to March of 1994, when Rev. Robert Mitchell preached at my church, The Temple Church of Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Austin Layne, during a revival. I told him I wanted to be saved. One night he instructed me to sit in a specific pew and he and his wife prayed and laid hands on me. Suddenly, the Holy Ghost came and took residence of my body. Since then I am serving the Lord as an evangelist preaching the gospel and working with souls in receiving the Holy Ghost. Thank you Rev. Mitchell for touching life, a vessel fit for the Master's use. May you rest in God's loving arms.

In February, 2016, Bro. Mitchell came to WV just for me. I believe that was his purpose that God had sent him. I loved him so much. He was such an example for me, such a friend and mentor. I was so blessed to spend several hours during that trip talking about God and all the business involved. I am so blessed to have learned from him. His ministry changed my life. Thank you Jesus
