Bob was one of my instructors in the lodge of instruction when I first joined the Masons 30 years ago and the one I remember the most. As I became more involved with the lodge Bob was very supportive and became a good friend. All who knew him will miss him. My deepest sympathy.

Dear Cynthia, I was so shocked to hear of Bob's passing. It's hard to believe that it was 35 years ago that he gave me a job driving a school bus. I have such fond memories of working for Big W. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With love, Lesley (Tompkins) Lightner

Our family will always remember Mr. Winterhalter with fondness... When my son began riding the school bus as a Millis kindergardner, Mr. Winterhalter helped him feel safe and well looked after. We can't thank him enough for giving us that wonderful peace of mind. He was a dedicated, gracious man and we feel fortunate to have had him with us here in Millis. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Mrs. Winterhalter,
I was a student at Holliston High School when your late husband, Mr. Winterhalter was assistant principal. I have never forgotten him and have often had him in my thoughts and prayers not knowing where he might be. I came across the obituary unfortunately too late to attend any of the services. I'm sorry for your loss and will continue to keep him, you and your family in my prayers. With sympathy, Jack Rossini, Ph.D. Retired Fine Arts Dept Chair, Newton South High School

Mrs. Winterhalter,
We are very sorry to hear of Bob's Passing. Back quite a few years ago he helped my husband and I get our bus licenses. We both have always had a great deal of respect and love for the man. he was always tender but tough. I did not want to drive a bus just wanted to spend time with my husband and he finally got me into it and now I've driving 26 years.

Bob's dedication, leadership and all he has given if himself so freely will continue to live on. He helped to shape the Ashland community through his service to the town as well as many other civic organizations. Presenting Bob with the Town of Ashland Civic Pride Award was an honor. I will always remember (at town meeting) his deep voice, "Mr. Moderator, move the question!"

So sorry to hear of "Mr. W's" passing. As a past member of the School Committee in Millis, I had the pleasure of seeing first hand how dedicated he was to the children of this community. He was a true gentleman and will be missed by all.

Mrs. Winterhalter,
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. "Mr. W." drove the bus for both of my children for several years. My husband and I always enjoyed seeing him each morning and we enjoyed hearing the stories of the kids telling us how he would say "simmer down" if the kids got too loud on the bus. I was always very impressed each Christmas when he sent a personal thank you card for the small gifts my kids gave him. I always thought of him as a classy man from the old school.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our sympathy comes to you from our hearts. As I told you earlier, you will have such loving memories, having spent all those years together. We hope those memories will carry you through the days and weeks to come.

Mrs. Winterhalter & Family,
On behalf of the both past and present Millis School Committee members, I would like to extend our condolances for your recent loss. Bob was a huge asset to the Town of Millis-School Department and he will be missed for his smile; his kindness, and his efficiency in running a very tight ship! We will always remember him in his top hat and medals driving the children of Millis "safely" and "in style", to their HS Proms.

Cynthia,
I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I spent a lot of good years driving bus for, and with him in Ashland. We had a lot of good times in the office as well. That was my favorite job of all times, and I still miss it. He was always a very good boss to me.
