Sandra Stuart Obituary

Sandra Stuart
1945-2021
A resident of Houston, Texas, Sandy (as her family and friends called her) attended Blackshear Elementary School, Miller Junior High School, and Jack Yates Senior High School graduating in 1962. Sandy received a BA degree in Sociology from Hampton University in Virginia and an MA degree in Library Science from the University of Texas. She taught in the Baltimore, Maryland school system in the early 1970's and was employed by the city of Houston as a librarian until she retired.
Her mother Dr. Marjorie Mann Stuart was a professor of Physical Education and Modern Dance at Texas Southern University and her father Shakey Stuart was a math professor at TSU as well. Her brother Sterling Stuart preceded her in passing. Her half sister Mary Susan Stuart lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Sandy attended the Church of the Resurrection in Sunny Side and St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
For approximately 45 years Sandy's family resided at 3514 Rosewood Street. She will be sorely missed, especially by her Godchildren Regina, Brian, and Brittany. She was generous and cheerful. We loved her.
