Ms. Varetta Bailey Williams departed this life on August 3, 2025. Varetta was known for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and her dedication to family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10 AM at Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church, 4300 Noble St, Houston, TX 77020.

My condolences to the family of Varetta Bailey Williams. Varetta was a faithful usher at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dennis C. Jones. Varetta was an excellent baker. Oftentimes, she would surprise us with desserts when working long hours at the voting center at Pleasantville Elementary School. I will truly miss her presence at Gethsemane and her desserts during the elections.

You all have our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies in the transition of your loved one. Varetta was a faithful servant and loving saint with the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church Ushers under the Late Reverend Hayward Wiggins and present Pastor Dennis Carl Jones. She has and will continue to be greatly missed by all of her fellow Ushers and the Usher Ministry. May our Lord's Comfort continue to cover your grieving hearts, and give you all His Peace.
