He loved his cigars and one was usually in his hand during his leisure time. He loved gardening and took great pleasure in the beauty of nature.

Waldo maintained a strong allegiance to the Texas Longhorns, but eventually learned to tolerate the Aggies after meeting and marrying Betty Edge, his devoted and beloved wife of 25 years.

Waldo was preceded in death by his son Thomas Wayne Luedemann, his parents Waldo and Lois Frederick Luedemann, sisters Anne Marie Emerson and husband, Charles, Linda Kiolbassa and husband Robert. He is survived by his wife, Betty Edge Luedemann, daughter Becky Iles and husband Leighton, sister Ellen Cox, sister Jane Strickland, brother Bill Luedemann and wife, Judy, sister Elizabeth Fitzgerald and husband Dr. Ray M. Fitzgerald, grandchildren Courtney Boyle and husband Patrick, Bradley Luedemann, Hunter Iles and wife Kalee, Hannah Santacruz and husband Haimirich, great-granddaughters Tinsley Boyle and Hayden Luedemann and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and their children.
