Allan will be missed by so many. He imprinted many lives with kindness, friendship, and helpfulness. He did not know the meaning of the word "No" and always helped when asked. He and Linda were my "rock" at a time of great tragedy in my life and he holds a special place in my heart and always will. He was my friend.

Allan and I met in 1964, our freshman year at the U.W. Law School. He became my best friend in law school and that continued year after year until his passing. We visited with him nearly every year since our graduation in 1967. My wife, Judi, and I will miss him as we would a brother. God bless this wonderful Christian man and his family.

Judge Allan J. Deehr was a wonderful person. I had the honor to work with him in Kosovo, where he came to improve the justice system of my country. His advice was received with outmost respect as Allan radiated trust and care. As a young lawyer, I felt so blessed to work with him and learned so much from him.

Judge Deehr, was so supportive of his colleagues and was passionate about the change that his work can make around the world.

I remember during meetings in Kosovo I would sit beside Judge Deehr, and for about a month I barely said anything in the meetings. Judge Deehr thought that I was a quiet person. After some time he saw me engaging in a debate at different meetings, he asked why I was silent in the previews meetings. I told him I was paying attention in order to learn from his wisdom and experience.

The world has lost a decent honorable man.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Judge Deehr was a welcoming and supportive judge when we first came here from law school in 1979. He ran a competent and efficient courtroom, was always prepared at hearings, listened carefully, was respectful to all while maintaining order, and issued fair rulings in accordance with the law - the definition of an excellent judge. He was also a lot of fun at Bar Association picnics. We also enjoyed seeing Al and Karen at Mass at St. Boniface Church. - Attorneys Rick and Lorene Mozinski

My Uncle Allan was a guiding force and inspiration to my Mother, Karen (Deehr) Burmeister. As her big brother, he often sent my Mom sincere and heart felt cards or letters ( with magnificent penmanship) along with a bouquet of flowers to let her know that she was in his thoughts. Therefore, while living far away in Hawaii, he made sure that his positive presence was still felt. May the blessings of Allan's comforting smile and genuine hugs continue to be felt through the memories of those of us he left behind.

Allan was a wonderful person and judge. When he retired in 1997, it was a loss to the Wisconsin court system. His passing, now, marks another loss to his many friends, family and to an abundance of people whose lives he so generously touched.
