John Christoffel Obituary

Christoffel, John D.

John D. Christoffel, 74, New Glarus, Wis., passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. He was born on Nov. 25, 1937, at Two Rivers, Wis., the son of Clarence and Beatrice (Gehrke) Christoffel. John graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers, Wis. Following high school John served in the United States Navy. On May 2, 1959, he was united in marriage to Katie Neuenberger at Two Rivers, Wis. John also graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Technology and Concordia University. John worked in Law Enforcement and served for five years as Police Chief in New Glarus. He also worked as an AODA counselor and municipal judge. John was a member of Grace Church in New Glarus.

John is survived by his wife, Katie, New Glarus, Wis.; two sons Michael (Margaret) Christoffe, Verona, Wis.; and Robert (Lana) Christoffel, Colfax, Wis.; two daughters, Cynthia (Ron) Neusen, Madison, Wis.; and Karen (Jim) Parker, Mt. Horeb, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Janice (Robert) Jump, Oshkosh, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Grace Church, 416 Second St., New Glarus, Wis., with Pastor Michael Beil officiating.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 6th Ave., New Glarus, WI.
