Steven Throndsen Obituary

Steven Alan Throndsen

Manitowoc - Steven Alan Throndsen, age 66, was born July 7, 1954 in Beloit, Wisconsin and passed away unexpectedly on March 31, 2021 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Steven moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1956 with his parents Glenn and Marlet Throndsen and his three brothers Ron, Jim, and Bruce. He attended Auburn High School where he excelled academically as well as in sports like football, swimming, wrestling, and track and field. In the summers he would work on the family farm in Arcadia, Wisconsin. Steven graduated from Rockford College. In 1975, he met his wife, Susan (Meagher) Throndsen and they married on June 25, 1977 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Together, they had two children Sarah and William. In 2005, the family moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin where Steven became employed at Manitowoc Company, now known as Welbilt. He was currently employed there as Manager Business Systems Applications. Steven was a craftsman by nature. In his spare time he enjoyed remodeling his home and gardening. He took great pride in making sure that whatever job he was doing was a job well done. He enjoyed entertaining and liked to cook. He liked science fiction, playing card and board games, and listening to classic rock and oldies. Above all he loved playing with his grandchildren Preston, Noah, and Everett. Those closest to him would describe him as stoic, hardworking, kind-hearted and loyal, with a dry sense of humor.

Steven is survived by his wife: Susan; his mother: Marlet; his daughter and son-in-law: Sarah (Alex) Bruso, and their children: Preston, Noah, and Everett Bruso; his son: William Throndsen (Emily Popke); three brothers: Ron (Chris) Throndsen, Jim (Sandie) Throndsen, Bruce (Sandy) Throndsen; two sisters-in-law: Kathy Meagher and Nancy (Brad) Beard; and his brother-in-law: Bill (Tammy) Rothenberger. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his father: Glenn Throndsen; his mother-in-law: Connie Swenson; and his brother-in-law: Kevin Meagher.
